Judging from newspapers, germany has everything from mid-Iberia in the west to Czechoslovakia in the east, with marginal posession of the southern balkans and no real mention of italys' sovereignty, while extending all the way north through Sweden and Finland. It does mention that Russia is still fighting the Weltreich in the middle of Poland, given that Lenins' sealed train apparently got sent off during the war in the E:RT timeline too.
But France, England, Luxenbourg, Denmark, Sweden, Austria, Hungary, Poland, Finland, and some other countries are all part of the German World Empire.
I think.

I remember reading in one of the newspapers about the "Free French" navy hiring out to guard Turkish convoys. Does this mean that a chunk of the French Navy escaped the fall of France (like the RNE) and is now acting as mercenaries for whomever can meet their price?

French probably evacuated to North Africa, like they did in WW2. I've suddenly forgotten the name of their colony there, though...

Casablanca is a city in Morocco, and the French colony we're looking for is Algeria (I think so anyhow, please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm no geography expert). Although I'm pretty sure the Free French inWWII only made it to Britian. There were French forces in Africa but these were under control of the German Army.

initially after the fall of france in ww2 the French navy was holed up on the med coast and to stop it falling into the hands of germans the RN Western Med Fleet under Adml Somerville had to capture or sink them and as the Frogs tried to make a bolt for it the RN repeated trafalgar and took out the french fleet.
