Should the tally of sinkages include failed mission attempts?
Yes    40%  [ 6 ]
No     60%  [ 9 ]

The stats are updated for missions run, missions completed after every single attempt, but, the stats for sinkages are only updated after a successful mission. 
Was there a reason for this (rank advancement perhaps)?  Surely if the stats say, N missions attempted then the Y subs sunk should reflect all sinkages regardless of mission success or failure? 

Does anyone else agree with me or should the 'sinkage stats' only include the successful missions?

So, when you go back to retry the mission and succeed, that's the "real" history of what happened. If you don't do it this way, then I could sit in Mission #1 and blow up all the merchants, then dive below crush depth to kill myself, rinse/repeat until I had enough sinkings to be an admiral.[/quote']

So that more than probally answers the question to the above poll, there most likely is a reason for not getting the kills, and it probally does have to do with the ranking system.
