Usn Surface Mission Campaign #8

If I thought the TAG team had pity on me by ending mission 7 for me without any kills, they've handed me mission 8 on a silver platter.
You've left the ol' DE Carter Bull and you've been upgraded to a DD, the USS Stonewall Jackson. Your assignment is to accompany a convoy on its way back to Iceland.
You'll find 2 subs to the north and 1 to the west when you start - a combo of Germans and British.
I saw that US bombers were already near the 2 subs up north so I decided to take on the one to the west.
As usual, the sub fired its fish about a kilometer out and then ducked underneath the surface. I went into the ritual of sending DCs over the side but the subs are too fast and too clever to hang around a relatively slow-turning DD.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch, those bomber planes were of limited use. Turned out later that they must've hit one of the subs badly, because it eventually was reported as having its hull crushed 600m down.
However, the remaining sub to the north of the convoy had a free ticket to sink convoy ships until I swung back around and drew its attention.
By this time, I got the victory pop-up prompt to quit, which I did. One sub killed by the bombers, none by me, a loss of many ships and on to mission 9 I go.
There should've been more ships protecting the convoy in this mission, IMO.
