Congratulations to the winners and thanks to all who participated in the contest.

Reasons for the contest?

First off, let me just say. I would have never guessed to get such a great interest in this contest. It was fun to see it grow and develop into such a great way to show what people can do and are interested in. Hopefully a spark of interest was made in some of you to possibly take your skills to the next level and maybe make it a profession. Never know, could be a money maker?

As for all the work done? It was to see what kind of talent and styles the club members could come up with and possibly stir up some extra help from interested members in the graphics/animation/mapping division. Currently myself and Tbar are the only active graphics developers for Tides. So the idea was concocted to stir up interest for people interested in possibly helping in the graphics dept. Intrest stirred!!! So, that said there will be a post in the near future with some options as to what some of the members may be interested in doing for the club in the graphics division. Stay tuned!

And now the good stuff! There was talk of a prize, be it material, administrative, or just a pat on the back. But which is it? As far as the material prize? I feel that money could be tight at this time, and it may be better to hold some back for an emergency fund for the servers. Administrative could be admin for the day or something to that effect. And the other being the pat on the back, which could be a special award image for top three. There should defiantly be a main/front page write up for the winners and a posting of the top three sigs with a link to a page holding all remaining sigs for viewing.

Sorry for the short and sweet about this. My days are sleep deprived and work is mandatory seven days. Hope it makes sense.

Wow, I am simply flattered that anyone would vote for any of my siggy's, especially the one that I personal liked the least getting a third place finish.

I'd like to thank the ToW Club for putting on this contest. I think it goes to show that there is a lot of hidden talent within the ranks of the squad, clubs and clans that reside here. I for one really became interested in doing graphics after this hearing about this contest, but never would I believe that I would have something finish in the top three. My talents right now are very limited, but I'm sure they will increase in time as I figure out the different aspects of the GIMP graphic program the other freeware programs I have been using.

For anyone on a limited budget and cannot afford the high dollar program like Photoshop, I recommend you take a serious look at GIMP. From what I understand you can do nearly everything that PS does and some claim it is even more powerful. Lots of tutorials out there for it too.
