Hello. New here as of just now. Saw this thread and thought I'd help if I could. My Pop flew the Jug (P-47N). He talked about it very little other than as a fighter pilot having flown P-51s he thought the jug was a great airplane for ground support duties but otherwise he disliked it for air-to-air. He also said that it flew on the verge of a stall at cruise speed and that took a lot of getting used to. He flew it post-war in the Pacific when assigned to the 92nd Fighter squadron out of Hawaii. I have all his flight logs but haven't reached that far in my reading yet. When I do I'll post anything that seems note worthy here.

I am real interested in the WWII period of out history and especialy the various Airforces ( people and technology ) involved. I would love to be able to spend time talking to your father about his experiences, do post any stories he has.
