About the Motto .. and a certain post

Joker,

The following post and comment should be 'deleted' as it certainly does nothing for "unity and victory".
It doesn't matter if it's in Latin, French, German, or English as long as the people to whom it represents knows what it means. Thats what counts! Your first post on this thread said it could be Latin.
I have researched this phrase. What? did you think I pulled it out of my arse. BESIDES THE FACT THAT THE MEANING FITS OUR SQUAD MORE THAN ANYTHING ELSE I HAVE SEEN.

Either that or we use to original Black Sheep Squadron Motto. Beer, Beer Bring more Beer!

No I'm not joking and I'm damn tired of being ignored. It's been posted for quite sometime. I don't recall anyone asking for a damn vote. You guys make your seal the way you want it. I don't give a crap, I just don't need it, I don't want it, and I won't use it.

I'm happy with what we use now. I'm hear to fly, not look pretty for ToW Club.

I make this post here in the 'officers' area in the spirit of: Ubi Concordia Ibi Victoria

In the matter of the Squad Great Seal Graphic and a BSS Squad Motto there are two topics on the matter, nothing else that I'm aware of.

1) http://forum.tidesofwar.net/index.php?showtopic=10154

2) http://forum.tidesofwar.net/index.php?showtopic=10230

Chill out a little Joker. o grpahic or Motto should be a 'heated' discussion in my mind. What is with the "ignored" comment? As a BSS Club.. don't we take input from all? Perhaps something else is bothering you or something else has be read into things .. ??

The Graphic Team does not care what the motto is .. and yes if the squad wants a Latin motto that is ok, affirmative, no problem. As far as the graphic team is concerned .. it can be changed without problem. Again, a long motto may not fit, and it probably can't be read at a 150x150 size. Might take a few days for them to schedule it into the work flow.. but when done its uploaded to the "permanent' storage areas so any use of the image will be automatically updated no matter where it is used (unless one makes a hard copy).

As far as *I* know.. there was no final decision on a motto. At one time you told me to use "Dare to Win". AS far as I know there were three Motto considerations , and I'm unaware the matter was ever 'decided upon' or finalized.

If this whole matter is a case of "Because the CO said so".. then the matter drops here and the Latin Motto will be installed. However the BSS in the past has never been a strict "military" structure, in the air is one thing .. on the ground is another.
I don't give a crap, I just don't need it, I don't want it, and I won't use it.
Ok.. fine, I nor the ToW Club has any intention or desire to make the BSS or its members do anything they don't want to. Don't use it then ..

What should be reviewed at this point is some information for the other Officers of the BSS at this point.

BSS is an Officially sponsored Battle Group within the ToW Club organization that fall under the Department of the Air Force. This Department is headed up by a gent named of Gosling. Gosling at one time was a member of the BSS, but stopped flying AA because it was affecting his IL2 flight performance (arcade vrs non-arcade)., Gosling is the ToW Air Marshal in charge of ALL air wings at ToW Club. You don't hear much from these type position/people because BSS does always comply and is NOT a problem in any way .. nor do they need a "private server' .. which most other Battle Groups do..

Without going in to too much.. what being part of the ToW Club organization means to the BSS is services .. and being part of something greater. We have as the BSS all the services and advantages of the ToW Club. We use their Team Speak and don't have to worry about anything on the back side .. no maintenance. We use their main server to host our bss.tidesofwar.net website with full support of the ToW Web Team, and we have full administrative privs. We use the ToW Club mailing system .. full access.. full resorces. We use the forums and a host of other services .. all because we are part of the ToW Club Orgnaization.

Ok.. so we don't need to "look pretty for the ToW Club", but it is nice .. to have nice graphics, nice website and such. We have "pretty" signatures don't we? So maybe it is important to some that we look as 'pretty as possible' and have a quality air about us.

All BSS members have an open invitation to join the ToW/FLH Club should they desire to do so. An application must be filled out like anyone else .. but you have 'preference' as the ToW Club is "invite only". Yet at the same time .. no one is 'bugging' you constantly to join the ToW or FLH Clubs ..

All the above is well and good. BSS is not very often asked to comply with anything other than a few ToW ToS and CoC regulations. We are asked to use a ToW:BSS tag on Team speak for ID purposes. We are asked to be Gentleman in public area's etc .. they don't ask much.. and when the ToW Club does ask.. its no more than they would ask of any other Battle Group within the ToW Club.

BSS Officers were informed of a ToW Club plan to revamp the site and much of the graphics ... and a new siggy concept that was coming along. These graphics will appear more and more around the site where you can 'visually' see the intentions, usage, applications, etc. There are many advantages for the BSS, but again.. if you don't care to use any of the systems, that is ok also. BSS was also asked if they wanted to join in other functions and duties within ToW such as the Graphics Team , Web Team, etc.

If you want to know more .. just ask. Its not really necessary to go into full detail here. ToW Club "includes" the BSS in everything, if the BSS does not want the inclusion in all things .. that is fine also. What is important is that the BSS has what it needs, when it needs them .. and understands what the ToW Club is . and is not.
