what the hell is a desron? sorry im a big idiot about that, but they say to sink the first desron, and ive sunk both dd's and 3 de's, i forget now if they were corvettes or des or dds, but the two big ones and three of the smaller ones, and then i hauled ass out of there. is the desron all the ships? do i have to sink everything? getting fed up with it. peace

Ive just completed the mission, and it took aboot 4 fish for each ship.

HMS Conquerer only used two on a girt battleship, whats that aboot.

Oh and the Conquerers were WWII Tigerfish torpedoes too.

Destroyers hulls can't be that tick, can they?

It takes:

1 torpedo to sink: Tankers, Merchants, Oilers & MTB's

2 torpedos to sink: Corvettes

3 torpedos to sink: Destroyer Escorts

4 torpedos to sink: Destroyers

? torpedos to sink: Battleships (dont think anyone managed to do so).

I believe that, whilst it is not possible to sink the Hood, the KLM battlecruisers can be sunk. Personally I have never managed to put more than about 8 fish in one. Bearing in mind all the other hits from destroyers, escorts and possibly other battlecruisers, that makes them tough cookies.

I'm guessing at least 16+ torpedos.

Hmm.... wrong mission, I think. I don't remember any merchants in this mission -- you're supposed to klll destroyers. And to do this, head straight at them at 2/3rd speed, let them start circling your buddies, and pick them off at 1000m.
