Marine Memorial League
(LTS format)
Rules:
Marine Memorial League is sponsored by the USAAC and adheres to all COC of the AA and the USAAC. The league operates a policy of one pilot, one squad. This means no ?ringers?, no multi-squad pilots. C/Os it is your responsibility to ensure that all pilots in your squad are registered on the CLP. This will ensure that all pilots will see the arenas.
General:
Marine Memorial League Last Team Standing will be played on the standard team map with AA off, squads will fly GE camp (home) and SU camp (visitor) with all planes available. Teams must not move from their spawned positions until the (Scramble) order is given. There will be no altitude limit, the map limit is one
(1) square around the bases. Players going outside the map limit will result in an immediate loss of the round. There is no reason to switch camps after the 1st half.
A match will consist of 8 rounds with a 5 minute break between the 4th and 5th round. In the event of both teams each win 4 rounds a 9th round will be flown to determine the winner.
Scoring will be 1 (one) point per round awarded to the Last Team Standing for that round. All points won by each team will be added to the standings table, and at the end of the league, points will be tallied to determine 1st, 2nd, 3rd,..etc. (Change)
Referee will give the scramble command and both teams will take off and will be free to engage. All planes should engage, if the Referee can visibly see that a plane is not engaging, he will make an announcement to the appropriate team to engage. If the pilot still will not visibly engage he will be counted as dead and must crash. Once you are shot down you can not take off, you must wait for the next round. When round is over pilots must crash, NO LANDING. (No Exceptions) (Rookie Room does not affect your scores).
If a Referee can not be allocated for the arranged match, but there is a Ref on each of the 2 teams, then the match may go ahead with the refs on both teams recording and keeping check on the scores and time. Any disagreements will be dealt with via the LM/Head Ref. Please post results on the UAAC forums.
Match Start Time:
All matches will start at the scheduled time. Teams are encouraged to be present 15 minutes prior to start time. No ?grace period? or delay will be allowed 2 minutes past the start time. Either team may request a ?grace? prior to the 2 minute mark. Matches will start no later than 7 minutes past the scheduled start time. In no case will more that One grace be allowed, regardless of which team calls for the grace. In the event a Ref arrives late, the match will start within 5 minutes of the Ref's arrival.
Team/Pilots:
Teams will be a 7 vs 7 format base. (Squads are encouraged to fly all players as long as teams are kept even).
A given team may fly 5 or 6 pilots, however the opposing team will fly with seven pilots max.
Seven (7) pilots is the format unless both teams elect to fly additional pilots and the assigned referee approves. Teams must fly even numbers of pilots in flying more than 7. (example) 8 vs 8, 9 vs 9, etc. (However if a team drops a pilot during the round the other team does not have to drop a player). If a match started with 8 vs 8 and team only has 7 for the next round the opposing team must drop 1 player. Players that can not fly due to their team has too many may sit on the US runway at the Ref's discretion. Players sitting on the US must not flood coms, and will be removed at the Ref's discretion if said problem occurs.
Five pilot minimum.
A team may not fly with less than 5 pilots for any round, grace periods will not be allowed at the scramble time for any round. No exceptions.
If a given team has less that 5 pilots present at 1st round scramble time, the full match (all rounds) will be forfeited. No exceptions. If both teams have less than 5 pilots at first round, both teams will register a total round loss. Both teams will receive a ?0? score, both teams forfeit and the match is over.
Each round must have 5 pilots minimum. Any given team that does not have 5 pilots at scramble time for any given round will forfeit that round and any remaining rounds. Zero points are awarded to a forfeit round (s) team, the opposing team is awarded the forfeit round (s) point.
KIA:
Once a pilot takes off from the runway upon the scramble order, said pilot cannot take off again.
If a pilot is shot down, crashes or is ordered by the ref they are dead and cannot continue for that round. Pilots must stay on the runway with engines off. Exception: If a pilot crashes on take off for any reason within the first 30 seconds of the scramble order, the said pilot may take off again. The referee may make an exception if warranted. Pilots needs to ask if any doubt.
Dropped Pilots:
The dropped pilot rule only applies once the round starts (after scramble order). Prior to start there is no dropped pilot rule. The term dropped pilot is defined as: When a pilot during the game dropped out of the game for any reason. Once a round starts a dropped pilot is considered dead and may not take off and or re-enter the battle for a given round. The is no forfeit for a dropped pilot or dose the opposing team need to drop a pilot.
Tags:
The LTS is a fun league, to promote friendly banter all tags will be identifiable tags with squad identification. Up to the first 6 spaces will be used for squad identification only. Example of allowed tags: USHA_Slayer, Tkfm_Vipor, BSS_Joker etc... No Exceptions.
Behavior:
Squads will restrict themselves to friendly/internal coms and will heed the commands of the referee at ALL TIMES. Referees will be instructed to penalize (forfeiture of the round or possibly the match) any squad that disrupts the other team by flooding the coms or refuses to obey the referees commands.
Pilots that cause disruptions will be asked to stop. If they continue the will be counted as dead and not allowed to play the remainder of the match, and will not be allowed to fly the next weeks match. (No Exceptions).
This league is intended to be fun for all teams playing in it, consequently teams must be seen to be playing the game fairly. It is the referees discretion as to whether he/she feels that a squad have been deliberately unsporting and can award the game to the opposition.
The referee must not be rammed, shot, stabbed, run over, mutilated, burned, covered in tar and feathers, beaten, battered, verbally or physically abused, or ignored.
Disputes/Complaints:
In the event of a complaint regarding on the teams, or a referee, the C/O only will Email the USAAC League Manager at LM@airattack.usThis e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . It is advised that at least one member of each team as well as the referee records each game to help clear up any possible disputes. (Complaints will not be heeded with out evidence).
The USAAC League Manager reserves the rights to change or edit the rules of the LTS at any time. Said rule changes would be posted publicly with notice on the USAAC Forums. Where possible LM's of other communities would also be sent notice of the posting via Email or CLP notice

Looks good, Ill be there. I leave Sat. for work though. I will be gone 2 weeks or better. Keep'em pinned
Well in my opinion we did a very good practice last night......May I suggest to keep planes mixed as we did it?
Most 109 and a few Spits....I think it was a good combination cause most of the rounds Spits, lower and slower than our 109 got the firsts kills, then we usually got down, but I think it was usefull to the rest of the team to focus on damaged enemy planes hited by our spits.

Mixed 109 and spits .. yes
but .. I see it differently. I see that the 109's up high would take a nip at the boggie .. and the boggie would run DOWN into the guns of the spits .. while the 109 would stay up for high battles.
spits can do a pretty good job of turn fighting and thus can normally avoid a single aircraft like a 109 making a dive on them. Once that 109 is down to the spit level .. its more than a fair chance for the spit. IF the attacking 109 tries and do the 'b and z ' thing .. most likely OUR 109 up high will down them
One thing I did notice that bothered me .. is the group got separated too often. This was probably because they were NOT all BSS and not practiced with us. I also noticed a weakness for not watching that map .. when they came right at us .. some adjustment was needed but not a lot. .. stick to the plan, but not at the cost of death
Yes.. we need more practice

Yes, we did have a good practice on Wednesday night. I do intend to have a couple of spits flying but the majority of our plane will be 109 K4's
I wasn't so much worried about the planes coming directly at us from the GE base, because I knew that it was Breeze from TS. He does it almost every time we play. The problem was for the planes the took the bait and flew back to engage. What they saw was and easy target because they where higher than him, but what they didn't see was the two other TS pilots who were lagging behind gaining alt and ended up above them and got tore to pieces when they engaged with Breeze.
When you see one or two planes coming at you from the start, ignore them and stay with the game plane. If you are in a spit, remember you have a faster plane, if low, run away from them and drag them closer to your squad. If you are smart and on TS you will let your squad know you are bringing bandits towards them near the deck.
You have the advantage of 1. a faster plane and 2. A bunch of your team mates above you ready to lend a helping hand.
I'll be putting up a map showing you our intended battle plan. One leg is for the spits the other is 109's

Being a "Girly" Swot, Burtons read the rules .... Go Burton....
The following text made me wonder if our practice has been within the rules...
Referee will give the scramble command and both teams will take off and will be free to engage. All planes should engage, if the Referee can visibly see that a plane is not engaging, he will make an announcement to the appropriate team to engage. If the pilot still will not visibly engage he will be counted as dead and must crash.
I know my team, flying from SU base, we practiced climbing over GB to agreed altitudes then depending on what the HUN were doing deploying various strategies prior to engaging accordingly. Whereas the above text suggest we should be engaging from take off. Joker, can you clarify this or seek clarification please.

Burton, I'm very glad you asked this question. Yesterday a rule change was made. Each squad now has 2 minutes to get to altitude and engage.
Two minutes may not seem like a long time, but its a pretty long time.
So hopefully this will answer your question.

Buton ..
We are ok and within the rules. At the two minute mark .. we have to turn and engage .. or at least turn toward each other. .. The only thing you really have to worry about is when the 'Ref' gives the 'order' .. then you must comply.
