What grinds my gears

We have a "new" thing going here in Indiana.

It's a 24x 40 inch (approx) sign you can get to put in your yard.

It says "kid's dart" and has a picture of a child on it.

Ok wonderful. At first I didn't think much about it. But, then I went out

driving and found that these signs are in the yards of people on main roads,

40 mph speed limits, not just small neighborhood streets.

So, it's no longer a parent's responsibility to pay attention to where their child is,

or what it's doing - IT'S TOTALLY MINE!

Of course kid's dart.. Kids have been darting since the beginning of time!

And, of course I always keep my eyes peeled for them. But to throw up that sign

signals me that they EXPECT their child to run in the street, don't care,

won't tell them to stop... nothing!

Yes I have a child. And he was told, watched, and then spanked when he

did go out in the street! It only took one time.. but I continued to watch.

It is not everyone else's job to raise my child... it's MINE! And, yea,

I'm one of those terrible people who think your child should not throw food

in a restaurant, or leave the place looking like a monkey ate there!

I could go on and on about this non-responsibility thing... but I'll leave it to you all.

What grinds your gears????

On residential streets I can see putting up a couple of these where there is alot

of kids playing, As small kids tend to forget what their thought.

But in a 40 mph or higher zone it seems really stupid.

Next Theyll be sings saying watch out for darting cats,

Yes I agree the parents should be watching their kids and not laying the responcability

on the rest of us. And watchout for the elephant crossing sign.

20 years ago kids didnt wear helmets for EVERYTHING... speed limits in res. areas where 25 and the neibor caught your kid doijng something wrong you would get a spanking form then ...the neibor would tell your mom and dad what happened and then you would get spanked again

now kids are put on pills and given time outs and they are BRATS who dont listen in school or to their parents ...every child get a trophy even when they lose and most youth sports no longer keep score cuz the losser might "feel bad"

we have tought our kids that you dont have to work for anything cuz they are all WINNERS!!!!

i see it in the work place they dont come to work and when they do they are lazy and dont care about their quality or production.....

but hey give them a pill dont punish them and give them a helemt so they dont hurt themsleves cuz i would hate it if they felt bad
