Port 20. Port 20 Aye Captian!

My father is a WWII veteran of the Pacific theatre. He was a AA gunner on the HMCS Nabob, a British designed, American made, Canadian crewed aircraft carrier. The Nabob was hit by a torpedo from a Nazi sub while hunting for the Tirpitz. A second torpedo fired at the Nabob was taken by a flanking escort the Beckerton that sped up to save the carrier. The Nabob limped to port, but had to be scraped.

My dad got a tear in his eye when he saw me bobbing along, barking orders as I protected a convoy.

Thanks.

A loyal fan for the duration.

Nabob, Thanks for sharing that and welcome aboard.

Tell your father for all of us here, we appreciate his service and respect the price that was paid for the many freedoms most of us so take for granted today.

Cheers,
