The situation as I see it:
The guild leader left us suddenly
None of the officers have taken charge
Lots of members have left the guild to return to FI and Corruptions without informing their guildmates via the the forums
Raid numbers have dropped for many reasons
This does not bode well. We have two choices as I see it.
1) We dissolve the rest of DV and members go where they will, raiding probably continues via Tribes.
2) We try to save DV by appointing a leader who wants the role and is willing to invest time/commintment/patience and sanity to it. And we try to get raids back on track, at least 1/2 per week. If we cant make the numbers for 25 mans then lets concentrate on Kara for the less well equipped and ZA for the better equipped.
If we decide on number 2 option then we need to take a vote to sort out a leader.
Please respond in this thread with ideas/other options/ alternative strategies folks or I think number 1 option will happen by default.

Agree completely vorp. Personnally i couldn't commit the time and effort involved.... so if no-one else volunteers in next month or so then i may quietly slip back to FI

Thanks for this Vorp .. short and sweet
My position is I am afraid, a selfish one. There is no way that I can put in the time, effort and support that being a guild or raid leader requires .. if I did not have hubby doing ti already in his guild then I could possibly attempt it, but I really cannot given that most days when he raids I am looking after and putting to bed 2 young children.
So although I will repeat that I am more than happy to raid wherever and whenever, I personally cannot step forward to take extra responsibility in organisation and leadership .. sorry .. I know it sounds like I am saying I want it all the easy way but there is no point in saying I can do it and then letting everything down.

guildleader... i don't know if i'm up to that. if it only means making sign ups twice a week i'm game for that.
if it would happen i would suggest to abolish some rules such as karma or the no-alts-allowed. at least till the end of summer. there are people who have pretty decent healer-alts for example that could mean the difference between the raid running or struggling. to be frank, you'd have to surrender yourself to my insight on the subject. with other words you won't have to be thinking "ooh, i'll get new goodies for my other character" but more in the line of "if i take this character along i'll make a difference in the succeschance of the raid".
as for karma. it's a good system for a solid core-group but not for the situation we're in now. i'd like to implement a quite loose system they use in my friends guild which is to just say who wants a certain item and hand it out based on attendency and how big an upgrade it would be.
for example: if T4 chest would drop for pally-shammy-rogue. it would be a minimal upgrade for my tank because it would give me the 4-set bonus. i would however have to pass it to someone who has a last blue in his chest slot (concidering attendance).
to make this work there's 3 options:
_i keep track of EVERYONE's gear and decide on the spot who's most deserving of the upgrade (harsh, i know, seeing everyone usually thinks they ARE the most deserving). that would result into me having to do a LOT of work and basically making the game no more fun for me
_we go with the classleaders to decide wether or not they think their "subjects" deserve the loot. with the recent outflow of people there were a lot of classleaders gone. also since most classleader didn't get so much power imo most weren't very involved with their "job" (the work a classleader has, isn't that much really. he/she just has to be listened to)
_you all look at your gear as objective as possible, bring out the nobelest part in yourself and decide yourself wether or not someone else deserves it more. hard thing to do, especially if the one more in need of the loot is someone you dislike. i'd very much like to grab some people by the neck and force them to read this last part. however i can't do that so i'll just hope the right people read this and come to insights
that's my input. i'd like to continue raiding for sure but if DV fails... i've got other things to do as well =)

Kint's ideas are great. I personally like the ide of being noble because we're all friends and adults expect for me lol. Im fine for passing something for another hunter but they may be because i like every hunter. So its not difficult for me to pass something for them
Maybe we could not have a guild leader but a group of leaders who does one thing to help the guild e.g Kint does signups, someone does tactics, someone does running the raid etc. I think this will help a lot because no one will have a huge burden on their backs and its simply more fair on everyone. Also another point to is low our entry point for tribes so everyone in tribes who wants to raid with fair gear like semi epicced. I dont know if everyone will like this idea but it will help make our numbers.
Anyways no matter what i would love to stay raiding with you guys and i will be willing to help out

Well Kint, I think you are a brave man.
I dont agree with all of your suggestions/ideas, but this is not the place to discuss that and I see that they are all valid points at this point in time and in the current state of the guild.
Due to the lack of responses with alternative strategies for the guild I would suggest that you go ahead and talk to Koren about the leadership of the guild when he comes on.
You have my full support.

You would have my support kint, for what it's worth. If anyone else wants to step up, I suggest they say so very soon and also shortly tell what their plans would be. Otherwise, good luck brave youngster
Been following this post as I was interested in its replies .I havent aswered before as I would have liked to see what initiatives were being taken and how many people were there to support them....
Its not because of a reluctance to persue raiding with DV that there has been called a break, its due to a lack of active players. Also to make raiding 25 worthwile we at least need a healthy base of experienced players to start off with. And at the last count of all the break, cancelling, vacation topics,we dont have that till at least after summer.
My idea for DV is to have it rest till september and then start afresh ,keeping karma as our loot system, spreading out the tasks of sign ups, karma, raidleading, raiddiscipline, and gear inspection amongst the most experienced and loyal players. We will probably have to recruit again but so be it.
We will also let go of the "try to please everybody' attitude we have always tried to uphold, its clear for all now that without a solid goal and strenous commitment from all involved a raiding guild is impossible to maintain.
Again I will support any effort in the coming weeks to keep up at least a 10 man raiding team for those online during summer, doing Karazhan with alts ,or ZA with mains. For this I suggest to temporarily let go of Karma and work on the honor system Kintoll described.I will support any effort Kintoll is wiling to put in and look forward to his ideas.

Koren
wow, i'm touched by the replies/support i'm getting here. whatever the ultimate solution will be, i'll try to make 2 raid sign ups every week. i honestly have no ambition to become guildleader and if we follow koren's advice to just put DV on ice till after the summer there's no need for it either.
as koren said: our biggest problem is that our core group of geared/motivated players is thinned out for the moment. perhaps we can resolve this with people getting geared/experienced during the summer. the weekly saturday (and soon to come thursday) kara runs of carol are a hopefull sign of that. i tanked for them last weekend and with a group setup of mostly non-DV members we oneshotted all bosses except for netherspite (which we had to leave due to time-issues on my hand :S)
shows that with enough endurance/practice/motivation we can add valuable members to our coregroup and perhaps have DV back in september/october stronger than ever.
i'm going to throw one of my plans in the open already. for next week i'm planning to make an A'lar sign up. hopefully something new might get people interested in raiding again.
thanks again to those backing me up

Go team Kint! You are indeed a brave man and its good that someone does something, so more POWAH to you
But that said i agree with korens statement about having heavy raiding on standbye and doing Kara and ZA the coming weeks instead. As last week showed us, 25 man raid is not really an option, or at least very very hard, considering peoples attendance.
My own situation is not much better myself. Im going for a 3 week vacation soon, so ill be of the grid, but that doesnt mean i stopped. Im still in, and still gung ho for some action, and if there's anything you need il be there.
