East, They May Be Right...

I went to EB Games to cast my positive coments about enigma... (whicht have not appeared yet... does it always take that much time to update?) and I read the negative comments of the ppl about the game... Some folks may be right...
Enigma may really lack a bit of basic info... U kown how to pilot a sub... I did this test with some friends of mine that don't apreciate naval sims... I said to them to give it a try...
These are the results of my study:
(I was there whitout making any coments.. just absorving)
They consulted the PDF file but still they ask me during the game: "ok, now what should I do? Where Should I go?
They dont realise that they have to submerge when enemy ships are returning fire, instead they tryed to figh them with deck guns. LOL
Soon they learned that while submerged the ships could not hit them with theirs deck guns. (finaly)
They did not had the info that while submerged the speed would be tremendious affected... Thais makes the prey cathing alot more dificult....
They started fired the torps at about 3 miles away to everthing they saw...
Later they realise that it is too far to lauch a torps at 3 miles and started to decrease it to 2500, 2000, and finaly 400 - 800. (this part was a big frustration for them)
They now know after a many torps fired that the torps are best aimed if fired
with no gyro anlges and to a colision course... not just straight ahead.
They kown that the U-Boat uses batteries thaks to the PDF files but of course they did not realize they drain too fast and how important they were during a battle...
Soon they understanded that the deck gun was only usefull against merchant ships at long distances...
They started to use the stern tudes and building attack strategies.
OVERALL:
They play the game 4 about 5 hours and the first hour was a caos! it might be longer if I was not there... I think a game with a begining of 1 Hour of frustration is enough to uncourage the starters of playing a sub game, has I have noticed the negative comments in EB Games came from sub sim newbies...
I think a basic description of an WWII submarine and engagedment rules should ne included in Enigmas case, Why not?
I imagine it in an MPEG movie where an Enigma mission is taking place with a person talking about it:
"We are now seeing that the player is now submerging to avoid the enemy shells...";
"He is taking now the subs to a range of about 400-800 meters rage of the target because his chances of eating the enemy vessel are MUCH better..."
Me and my imagination!
Anyway, one of my friends really started to like enigma LOLOLOL!
I hope this helped in any matter!
CHEERS EAST!
