Equal numbers in open teams

Nice to see that some guys doesn't care about equal numbers in open teams. Just joining the team where the m8ts are and fly.
You guys ever did think that others doesn't have fun in a 2 vs 6 or 5 vs 12 match ??
Nooo, at complaining you have enough stupid answers in the pocket, but changing to equal numbers is just not possible.
I have seen this now for a long time and it spoils fun every time.
Now here is the deal.
Continue with the behavior, ignore ALT T and numbers at joining and i promise you the launch will change.
Way 1 we can go:
You have to select the team right at the launch and if this selected team has more pilots than another team you cant join.
Switching teams will be only possible from the launch page.
Way 2 we can go:
If one teams does have more members than the other team you get for a kill only 0,1 point while the team with less numbers get 1,0 points.
That means you must kill a pilot from a outnumbered team 10 times to get the same points at equal numbers.
Somehow this way number 2 (maybe is in a changed form) is also good to protect new pilots, since some are only good in hunting fresh rookies down. Killing a real rookie counts a death to the ratio of a experienced pilot or stuff like that. All possible to do
Be sure something will be done if you don't start to change and learn that only equal teams make fun.
It is up to you all if and what will be done.
Have a nice day
PS:
Remember the possibility to create unlimited pilot tags ? Gone because some did abuse it and have 60 or more tags.

I know I dont fly as much as I use to due to work.

Of course teams become uneven. The good pilots don?t want it that way and often change sides to make it even. Then it becomes unbalanced the other way. Pilots who are first in think that the pilots who joined last should join the weaker side but often, the pilots who join the stronger side are newcomers who are tired of being killed and want to be on the winning side. Sometimes the side with the greater numbers has planes idle on the runway. Often the bigger team has a larger proportion of newbies. More rules and restrictions are not the answer. You will complicate the game to an intolerable level.
All of us and I mean all have experienced what Tank is talking about and yes it can be frustrating but we just have to accept that the see saw effect exists and learn to live with it. It has always existed?it is not new. Although it causes temporary frustrations it is not a major issue. Pointing fingers at individuals or groups that we think cause this problem is meaningless. Those who complain about uneven sides often have a one sided view. They complain when they are on the weaker side but remain silent when they are on the stronger side. We have all experienced the situation where, when we join, we are outnumbered, then when it swings the other way we feel justified in getting revenge and are surprised when later arrivals on the other side complain about us taking advantage of them. It?s all a matter of your point of view at any given time.
Let it be discussed by all means but my personal opinion is that nothing should be changed other than appealing to folks? sense of fair play and asking for a little tolerance?what frustrates you today will probably be frustrating the other guy tomorrow. Learn to live with it. Some folks even think it?s an exciting challenge to be on the weaker side and still make a score?there?s something for everyone in this great little game.
Hey, Tank we all love you and your contribution to the game is appreciated greatly but cool off a bit m8 Give folks a chance to air their views before making arbitrary decisions.
I was wondering what Tzu?s point was about the 1.5 room. I think he is saying that folks often join the stronger side because that side has the plane they want to fly?..so giving them a choice of any plane on either side resolves that issue. Good point but the real point of teams is that you fly with the planes that historically are available to that country. Perhaps what really needs to be done is to achieve greater accuracy in the physics of the different planes. Some of us can remember a time when the planes were more equally balanced?..sure they had different characteristics but by becoming familiar with the differences you had an equal chance no matter what plane you were flying. Remember the aces of earlier days. Some of them mastered the P38, the Yak3, the Hurricanes. The physics in the current game, however, are too unbalanced and lead to everyone wanting to fly spits or 109?s.
I?ve said enough?.take it from here :smile

Good post I totally agree with, Bateleur.
So, should we learn to live with it and if not, what else could we do apart from creating more and more restrictions to the game - features and freedom of choice ?
All the reasons you?ve posted above, about the reasons for unbalanced teams are valid (though you forgot to mention the reason, pilots want to join the team of their buddies and that?s why they don?t care about the numbers). Can we avoid some ?
?Way 1?, Tank has posted sounds reasonable.

This has been like this forever! Deal with it, everyone has. Sides change all the time, people leave, come in and sit, so how can you change this? You can't, it is more fun when teams even out as always but when you have 3 or 4 blokes in there that you want to fly with as a team and then can't get on the side they are flying on, your taking the tactic out of the game in teams then for that squad. In the long run it will hurt the game. Just deal with it like we always have since day 1 of this game. Mabey ask the room if anyone wants to change, thats what we do or we as a squad just move to a diff country. If you don't keep sides even people just leave because there getting pinned, and we all know thats not very much fun. Im sure some don't even realize this is happening, so it does need to be brought to the rooms attention mabey. As far as changing the game and setting more rules, I think thats a mistake.

I wanted to answer this post of Tanks right off .. but decided to wait. We talked about this on USAAC TS the hour it was posted and it was fresh on some minds how Tank re-acted in the teams room, etc.
I wanted to reply.. Tank.. cool off bro, you can't just make those changes anyway so .. chill out.
Bateleur: I sure wish I knew you better, I sure would like a chat with you sometime

I happen to agree with Bateleur and would have made my post reply at first reading Tanks post .. exactly as Bateleur did. Of course my post would not have been as eloquently put forth
Fury: I agree dude, as Bateleur said .. learn to live with it.
Air Boss: You are exactly right.. spot on.
There are many reasons teams can be unbalanced .. and sometimes those reason are 'fun'.. sometimes not. Who ever said war is fair? As a game .. now and then some 'unfair' situations make better pilots of us all. Are you going to try and figure out a way to assign 'skill levels' to pilots so that even team composition have evenly skilled pilots assigned? Like to see ya pull that one off

I've seen uneven teams just because one side had a ton of 'skill' flying.. and the other sides were forced to join together to have a chance against a small number of highly skilled pilots. Very unbalanced, but a ton of fun!
The only solution: awareness. This post should not be viewed as one persons complaint and threat to take action.. but rather a discussion of a problem that the community as a whole can solve or at least alleviate most of the time. Simply ask, when that does not work .. go take a break

AA is so dynamic the situation will change within a short 10 minutes.
I Don't understand TZU's responce at all. I do know that TZU's pet project is to ensure that Teams are balanced. In my mind .. the only way to do that is simply to 'ask'.
Now that the community is aware .. maybe now the CO's , XO's and powers to be will simply set a good example and ask folks to even things out

As Air Boss has said........ just ask

Now please note that not 'everyone' has their 'ears' on when you ask .. so you just might have to ask several times .. nicely, and I'm sure it will happen

It's so nice to see Eski and our GE friends agreeing. LMAO!!!!
My point being that there was an empty TEAM EVENT ROOM, WHERE YOU COULD HAVE FLOWN ANY PLANE, FROM ANY NATION. In other words you can fly on the SU team in a 109K4 or a Spit 14 or a LA7... and still go to 40k.....
But some in the game choose to get any advantage that they can. You could have gone to that room and flown on the same side with your squad.
BTW,Eski was one of the 9 I was referring to from the other night.
Not to mention who disrupted the EVENT last night showing up late and refusing to even the teams, even when the Event Manager asked them to switch .....They we had to stop the event and start over..........
Stay tuned: Let's see how they justify that bs.....
What happened to the large "Absolute Power Corrupts" on the last post? LMAO...

Sometimes the side with the greater numbers has planes idle on the runway.
I think this is where we could put a lever on automatically and it doesn?t hurt anyone.
Now I don?t know, if it?s technically possible but if, we should restrict the idle-time of pilots sitting on runways to 5, 7 or 10 minutes and then boot autom. ?
How long do you need for a pee or to grab a beer from your fridge ?
P.S. this would also solve another problem: there are certain players parking in the middle of the runway for hours (in FFA), just waiting to get runway killed, in order to upload a complaint - replay to the sysops, which I think is somehow dirty.
On a personal note: I think we could put Tzu and Fury in a sack and hitting the sack with a club, without failing to hit the right one.
