Voice Control Problem

Im having probs with my voice control. In preferences it states that "mic init fail". I have XP home edition and my mic works with all other applications I use it for. Sound card is a soundblaster live 5.1 which the mic is directly connected to. Hope yu can give me some pointers as this game is hard to control with keys especially when trying to steer and shoot at the same time.

Do you have the enigma speech engine installed ?
Is it not automatically installed with the game files? I have just bought this game and am now stuck on the surface mission 6 trying to sink milchcows with very little help from my AI buddies so I would really like to get this voice thing sorted. Where is the enigma speech software located?
