It Does Not Work As It Should !

:o East, no matter what you keep on going to say: ERT IS buggy, as it doesn't perform fluidly as it should. Look, it's not our job in the first place to adjust our hardware to mediocre settings (audio HW acc.) when esp. high-end systems (like mine) run more than well on everything else even more demanding. It is your obligation to deliver a product free of flaws at the end of the day. Hope you don't mind my saying so, but you need to deliver value for money; people paid for this, and after all those high-rise expectations we are let down to so disappointingly. Come up with those patches, will you please, but do make sure it all does not end up as a patchwork anyway. I guess the whole piece needs a good overhaul, no matter what you insist on posting here. Please do your best to make it a success, at last, or I shall agree with those chaps who call for complaints with their dealers and request their money. The criticism on these forums should tell you that there IS something wrong, right ? Thanks anyway, and don't let us wait any longer for at least a first-aid patch.

:( I agree entirely with your comments I found this to be a very flimsy and lightweight game when I loaded it on my system I found out that I had to turn everything down to low settings and switch everything off that was running in the background also how they are going to get this online for multiplay I have no idea this game in its present form is more suited to a dedicated game system i.e. ps2 gba or xbox than workhorse pc systems
Well gentlemen, I've not seen any posts from you on problems you are having and flames certainly don't help us track down whatever real problems exist (and I'm sure there are some).
The tech support forums aren't here for you to air your opinion, they are here for you to get help.  Something we are willing to bend over backwards to do.

Please detail your exact issues and/or send a copy of your DXDiag printout and we will be happy to troubleshoot them.

To date we only have 1 customer who's problem we haven't been able to solve and we are working on it.  ALL the rest have, without an exception, boiled down to 2 things - outdated drivers or the audio hardware acceleration issue - THIS ISSUE BTW IS THE SAME ONE BF1942 HAS.

If you need help, please ask.  If you are just here to flame, then take a walk.

East, naturally this tech forum isn't for whining and bickering, but yes, I was referring to the audio issue, though admittedly touched it at surface only. Now, to get you right there, I have downloaded the latest available frives for my Avance AC 97 and I have the latest catalyst drivers for my RADEON 9000 series. The piecs hangs and stutters all way long and at times simply gives itself up and crahes down to desktop. Also, one needs to wait for eternities to load the missions, i.e. the logo "loading" pops up once (together with the morse signal) and then you sit back and relax because at times you got at least 5 mins and more before you get "started". Then you hear the sound stuttering its way into action and freezing the whole thing. You meet your first enemy or take a good look around, there you stop again, leaving you with a nice "screenshot", esp. when allove action sets in. That's what I mean, East, I don't have a RADEON to turn everything down to basic, when this shiny piece of hardware leaves me heartpounding at full settings with everything else. And that's why I ask for something finally done, technically.

Now were getting somewhere.
The Avance AC 97 isn't an audio card I am familiar with and don't have a basis for troubleshooting it yet.  If you have tried the hardware acceleration fix and it doesn't work, then please send us your dxDiag printout so we can troubleshoot it.

We have tested Enigma from the start on ATI cards from the 7000 to the 9700 to ensure compatibility.  When you have that long a load time, there is something wrong with the setup.  On a system setup like yours load times should be under a minute.

A couple of things to check that we have no way of controlling:

- Run an anti-spyware tool like lavasofts Ad-aware - you will be amazed at how much crap can accumulate on your system.

- Instant messengers, web browsers and sometimes even anti-virus programs can cause unpredictable behaviour - be sure they are shut down

With as much stuttering as you are having, there is a real possibility that your audio card is sharing an interrupt with something else in your system and it would be worth going through your irq settings and checking for overlap.

During our pre-gold testing we've had the game running on everything from PIII 500 Celerons to P4 2.4s, TNT cards to the 9700.

Enigma is finicky as it requires a good clean setup, but it (so far) hasn't been finicky because of bugs in the game.  DirectX9 on systems without pristine and current setups seems to be the biggest common denominator for people who are having problems.

Send your dxDiag to east@warfleet.net and we'll take a look at it and see what we can figure out.  Perhaps your unfamiliar audio card will give us a lead to a bug that we just haven't found yet.
AC'97 Soundcard ... mmmmmm there is an AC'97 on my mobo aswell, I have it disabled and Use a rewular soundcard (SB LIVE5.1).
First of all AC'97 ONB card is slow and does NOT support hardware acceleration (or was it something else I cant remember, but I swithced course of that. and the shuttering basically went away.

I still have some when AA guns are fired, but that is properly more my old videocard (unforturnally they are VERY expensive here in Denmark). maybe EAST could donate me one of their used R9700 Image  :D
as with you I found long load times for the patrols when I actually got into them they ran ok for 5 to 10 mins then crashed out to desktop I also have got the latest drives loaded and am using dx9 but I had to go through the whole system and shut down everything running before I could actually play the game I am able to turn my sound accelerators down to basic but it has not helped any

send me your dxDiag file and we'll take a look at it.  You shouldn't be seeing the issues you are having if things are up to date and the hardware acceleration for audio is set to basic.
I'm trusting you checked for any IRQ issues...

I'm not wishing to kick up a storm here, but, any game that is sharing ram,cpu time with any other prog will not run at it's best. Moans and groans about having to close b/ground processes are surely unfounded. Look at some of the other boards regarding sims. Most, nay, ALL recommend all b/ground progs/apps are closed. Please don't give up on this Game chaps, it is by far better supported by the dev team than most others out there, I should know I poured enuogh money down the drain upgrading to get such and such a game working, only to have all support dropped within 2 or 3 months.
