Occasional Crash To Desktop

First of all:
Great game guys!  I'm having a lot of fun so far... nice work!

But... I do have an occasional problem.

It happens when I select a patrol from the Patrol menu screen.  What I usually see is this:

1.  The mission "loading..." screen appears for a few seconds.

2.  It closes.  I briefly see my desktop' date=' with a command console top left.

3.  The screen then refreshes and the game begins.

However, approx one time in three or four, step 3. will refresh and go straight back to the desktop - and Enigma has closed without any warning or error message of any kind.

:(

Because the game is running without problems for 66-75% of the time, I assume my general settings are OK.  I am running a fresh install (ie.

For info, here is my system:

Abit AT7

Athlon 2100XP

1 Gb 333

Radeon 9700 Pro + Cat 3.2

WinXP Pro + SR1

DirectX 9.0a

Any suggestions gratefully received.

PS.  I am running the game at the same resolution as my desktop - ie. 1152x864.[/quote']
Could you try run your desktop and the game at 800x600 ?
Thank you
Also try setting your hardware audio acceleration to basic or none.  This often stops the problem.

Sounds like a closer look at your Dxdiag.  Do we already have it?  Have you verified current drivers' date=' IRQ's' date=' etc.?  Are you running > 800x600 when it happens?[/quote'']
