I think we need to practice how to pin a base, some Pinning Tactics to be used on 2 squad competitions..
Cause i think we are lacking on this while other squads are very good about and making some good kills of it.
We want to start on theory on points/tips here on forums first then goto practical practice..we should create a practice arena just for this purpose.
I got an idea, we can make a teams practice arena and see which team will pin the other's base longer time..thats only after we got the basics and methods..
Remember, USHA last match pinned us for a good while..
So what do u think everyone?

Hi Coldfire,
Yes pinning is a tactic we definitely need to work on. We had the opportunity to make a pin a couple of time against USHA, but my commands where being ignored. Instead we decided to turn fight with the our GE planes, and let them back in the air again.
When we go against these European teams, they will have no mercy on us at all. I've been there in the SNL series and it did not mater that we where short on pilots. They thought we would forfeit the match and didn't. Then they wrote to us on the comms saying that they hoped that we didn't what we where doing was "honorable". So they pinned us the whole match. It was not fun at all, but me and Tbar and whoever else showed up to fly took the beating and got schooled.
Pinning is very important aspect of the game.

Hi Joker,
True, and I forgot to say that in addition we also need to learn and practice how to break from an already applied pin.
about pinning itself, we need to study what altitudes we should fly/circle above an enemy base so we can pick up any pilots taking off beside being away from the AA guns range..
about breaking from a pin, we need to study How to wait for the correct moment to take off without being shot down..and how to send a couple of pilots to distract the enemy away from the base and allow the rest of ours to take off safely..
that's all that came across my mind for the moment...
your additions/tips/hints are also welcomed Joker..waiting for it.

one thing a pilot must no in here is how to call a pin from above a base..
say lets set an anchor point here
its that easy
and its step 1

What do u mean "to call a pin from above a base"?
I'd like to know what Top_gun Means myself???
About escaping, if there are several planes taking off at once the only thing I can think of is to have all go in different directions low and fast away from the enemy until you can get enough speed up to safely climb. This seems the best way for me, and I do it quite often. Sometimes I'll play the chase target and drag a few planes away from base so the rest of my team get up. If you see a plane taking off and going out by itself on your map that is most likely me.
I do it for 2 reasons. The further they are away from our base gives my guys time to get going and get up safely. 2nd If they do get the kill on me I usually have dragged them so far away so when I spawn again, it will give me time to get up safely on my second chance. Then I try my best to get 2 consecutive kills to cancel the one I lost.
I pretty much had to do this on every game so far.
I can't stress enough how important it is for us to pin a team when we don't have the same skills as they do to fight them in combat. Once we get better as a squad we won't have to rely on the pin quite as often, but for now in my opinion, its our best tool for us to use.

about escaping from a pin, it makes sense and is a very good tactic..as you said we can sacrifice one or two pilot to break off a pin.
ok, in case we are pinning a base:
- AA gun range is about 2000 ft alt above the base as i recall right?
- I want also to know the AA gun range from the other 4 sides directions..
for the second question we can draw a graph for our pilots to memorize for the AA guns ranges..
- how to dive on a plane taking off (or lower on alt) without being shot down by their AA guns..
we need to practice all those details sometime soon..
let's make it more scientific and accurate so we can study and have an advantage over other squads who depends on their own common sense and experience without a steady base of theory..
ofcourse we need practical experience too and experience weights big time, but better if we start with papers and blueprints and logic first..
Experience= Time * Knowledge
*= multiplied by
and because time takes time lol
we need to start with knowledge, it's all what we can get fast now
it also can make the time variable more less (shorter time) and still give a high experience value..cause it's a multiply relation.
it's going to turn to a math class soon
I agree..It's our best tool for now beside our moderate skills until we get better..I can't stress enough how important it is for us to pin a team when we don't have the same skills as they do to fight them in combat. Those are some very good questions Coldfire. It seems to me that the gun range is 2000FT. Above the base. As far as each gun I can't answer that. But I think that every gun has the same distance to the target regardless of how far the plane is away from it. I believe that if you are below 2000ft and whether you are nearest the NE or SW or SE or NW gun, all will get hits on you. Don't take this as fact because I'm still learning also and I could be wrong. Maybe Tbar can give us some better answers.
