I have finally got a computer that isnt infested with junk. I am finally able to fly again but, since this is a new computer it came with VITSA!! (POS!) Personally I would go back to alteast XP and enjoy that program again.

So right now I am having a difficult time starting this junker's engine up and keeping the tires inflated.

I have Downloaded the game on here and have signed in and everything

When I go and click on AA luanch it brings me to the Central launch page like I remember it should be doing. Then I sign in there. So far so good.

Once I sign in I click AA Launch. (I believe that is the correct button to press.

The page then starts to load but instead of launching or giving me a choice of the arena I am going to fly in it sends me back to re sign in. Which put me back in a circle. It is the crud build up in my engine. :P

I am sure I just need to open a port or just create a exception on my computer security system, and its not that I cant or wont its more like I got a few other programs going before and when I messed with the security center to another program it but the previous programs back to square one cuasing me to redo them again.

Any ideas or experts with the stupid VISTA program would be much apprecitaed and KID lol tried to get word out but no interenet makes it a little difficult.

You might find the CLP - F.A.Q. very helpful in answering all your questions, regarding the game-setup. ;)

http://www.airattack-central.com:80/faq.ph...aq&faqid=10

Windows Vista works with AirAttack and you have to make sure you do following changes to the standard installation at XP.

When installing the game, rightclick the aa-installer and in its properties select run as Administrator.

If the default-path C:\Program Files\Air Attack does not work properly, install the game into the My Documents - folder instead.

1. Open AA folder

2. Right click AAupdate.exe and select properties.

3. Open compatibility tab.

4. Check Run this program as an administrator under Privilege Level Section.

THIS MUST BE DONE WITH AASTART.EXE ALSO.

Make sure all aa files have access through the firewall. (Aira.exe, AAStart.exe, wget.exe, and rsync.exe)

Sumary-

I followed the steps completly and got through on the first try. Was able to sign in any time I wanted for the rest of the night.

The following day I this problem did occur, but I went back into the control panel and just unchecked and then rechecked everything and it re allowed me back in.

If that fails (it has done that once to me this morning) just go to

-Control panel

-C Drive

-Program files

-Airattack

-Then run the AAupdate from there.

This update doesnt really do anything that I can figure, but for some reason it will allow you to get past the AA launch button into the COC page.

It is a simple thing to do but, a bit annyoying to do before the first flight of the day.

Ok well I have found a way past the AA luanch that I am Certain is causing the problem. I am pretty certain that the reason for the launching problem.

It's something I suspected right off the bat, but no real way to confirm.

I believe VISTA has a huge problem of being signed in, in more than one place using the same webpage or signing in it different locating using the same web page bar.For example- When I sign into my Airattack.us account then sign into Central Launch page then click AA launch it wants me to re-sign in again.

This problem occurs to people that do not have the central launch paged booked marked and they go through the UK, GE or US site to get to the Central launch page.

This morning I tried signing in again from the US site. I first checked the forums then signed into the central launched page. It then sent me through a loop.

I then exited off from the site and came back 10 min later and checked my email. Saw that I have a private message located at the central launch page. So I clicked it, and opened a new webpage (having me signed in already) when finished reading thought I give the Launch button one more try. This time it let me through to the COC page. and allowed me to go to the webpage where I can choose what arena I wanted to fly in and under which ever pilot name I so wished to fly under. Thus fixing my problem.

To conclude-

VISTA doesn't allow you to sign in twice on the same web page

Easiest way I can figure to get into the launching area is going through you email by a link or it being bookmarked.

To the central launch page having you already signed in.

UPDATE- Did a little testing today with it to see if I can once again repeat this result on a seperate day and after I shut down the computer and turned it back on.

It all works fine I have a book marked (Central launch page) and it works from there.

I then shut off my computer and started it back up, Then tried the link from my E-mail account and it worked just the same.

Solutions-

Book mark it (Put it in Favorites) the central launch page.

Or have a external link to Central launch page from either Desktop or Some sort of email account etc...

From Beca-Wizard and the UK forums:
1.) At first you need to download the Installer-file (--->to desktop), which you can grab here: http://fighterace.ketsujin.com/aainstaller.asp
2.) If you doubleclick the Installer on your desktop, the installation-procedure starts. In a first step the installer will create folders and necessary environment variables. In a 2nd step you?ll be connected to the Ketsujin-downloadserver, in order to receive the needed game-files. It is a pure Online-Installation. You can?t install the game whilst being offline at all.

The 2nd step can lead to problems already, if you have hardware-firewalls (router) or software-firewalls (XP) enabled. You need to forward some ports and need to allow certain applications accessing the internet. (....very similar to the port 9001 UDP-thingy for KAA) However: this is somewhat more complicated and confusing as it is/ was with KAA. Therefore there is a website with all necessary informations and settings available at: http://fighterace.ketsujin.com/AirAttack/firewall.html.

Please read it carefully and properly. On top of the page the ports are listed you need to forward within your router-firewall and below that the application-names you need to make exceptions for, in your XP-firewall.(...with or without Service Pack 2) If it fails on your 1st attempt, do not yield to despair. Just read it again and/ or ask. Some of us needed to disable all firewalls and the anti-virus-guard in addition, to be able to get the files.

If you need to go that far, make sure you have shut-down all applications, which communicate with the internet, such as browser-windows, outlook-express and all messengers such as MSN, ICQ AIM and so on. Don?t leave them open whilst being connected to the internet with totally dropped pants.

3.) If you received the game-files successfully do not run the game right now. Shut it down and do the following first:

- doubleclick ?My PC?

- doubleclick C:

- doubleclick Program Files

- doubleclick Air Attack

.....in this folder search for an application called ?AAUpdate? and doublelick it. This application will run automatic. in future and provides you with the latest updates on game-and launcherfiles. Therefore you need to make sure it isn?t blocked by your firewall(s). For now just doubleclick the AAUpdate and run it manually. It will connect you to the Ketsujin-downloadserver again and if there is an update available, you will receive it.

4.) Start:

Some of you noticed already: there are different possibilities to start the game available. For the very 1st time start the game from your game-shortcut or the Air Attack - program-folder. A login-window will appear. Make sure you enter Username and Password and important: make sure you have switched the ?Remember Username and Password?- thingy on. Otherwise you could get problems with the launch.

Afterwards you could also use the additional launchbuttons on TAA - and UKAAC-websites.

Note: it isn?t working all properly and round yet. It is very early days. The servers are still in beta-testing and our webmasters are still fiddling around with the web-launches. We are currently collecting possible problems and working on solutions, which we?ll post in a 2nd thread called Problems and Solutions .

Make sure you don?t create new threads about your problems, since it is necessary to keep a good overview, in order to consider and answer all your questions.
