have you tried the most recent official STF removal tool ?
http://www.star-force.com/support/sfdrvrem.zip
How to remove all StarForce components from your PC:
Sometimes the un-installation utility of the protected application does not uninstall all StarForce drivers. The following procedure will ensure that all StarForce related components are completely removed from your system.
1. Download the ZIP archive.
2. Extract and store sfdrvrem.exe anywhere on your hard disk.
3. Run sfdrvrem.exe.
If the protected application requires a StarForce driver, this driver will be re-installed as soon as you launch the application again. For further help, please contact the helpdesk of the application publisher.
Note that all cases of unauthorized distribution of StarForce Removal Tool (sfdrvrem.exe) itself, be it .EXE file or the utility archive (.ZIP, .RAR, etc.), are considered as infringement of the copyright. For authorization, please contact StarForce

Also if you like E:RT but hate STF, you should buy a used copy of the original retail (not International Gold Edition) at Ebay etc. since the original does not have the STF protection (just be sure to patch up to gold).

Thanks, J. Apprecieat your response. But, Ironically, in answer to your inquiry about me loving E:RT enough to put up with STF, you'd have to check out my recent answer to your reply under another topic re: pathching E:RT. Sorry to be so mysterious, but I think you'll appreciate the irony once you read my reply. Again, my gratitude.

Yeah I saw that reply, I find it odd tho, I never noticed any significant differences from the IGV vs patched Retail (Maybe I never paid that much attention to details tho).
Did the official STF rem. tool help you ?

You probably haven't if you'd not noticed. I have, and there is. It would be intresting to see what others say about the difference among various versions.
Oh! My mistake in the STF matter. I was unnder the impression that it removed the utilitly from the actualy loading of the game. IOW, the game would load sans STF. Sorry 'bout that.
