Enigma:a Dead Game?

OK so i don't want to seem pessimistic but i suppose i must be saying what a lot of people are now thinking now that the writing appears to be on the wall

Is ERT now to be considered a dead game?

Does anyone know if it has a future?

I know people have taken games on before but i see constant references to other remakes and fan finished games that just dont make it from excited forum discussions into real life

Thoughts anyone?

I have games on my pc that have been 'favorites' for life .. and they are old, old ,old .. but I still like to play them! In that respect DEAD GAME that is what YOU make of it.

Dead Game i that their may not be further chapters .. ok, I'll concede that .. maybe. We still don't know what TAG's future is.

I know these forums are not DEAD. Folks check in here to reference and get assistance as well as chat with other players. I know that Tides of War plans to continue supporting the 'players'. Players helping players , etc. I also know that the game designers keep checking here also to help out if needed. I also know that Tides Staff member Jesper always gives a helping hand where he can.

TAG is still alive, they are not dead yet, just a change at the top. Who really knows what the future might bring. It may not look very bright from our limited perspective .. and maybe it does go under .. but the game is still the game

ERT is still.. to this day .. one of the best Naval Games every produced and still on the market IMHO.

The potential for this game on the MP scene is just awesome .. Silent Hunter III and Destroyer Command are not the type of MP I was ever interested in .. I wanted to see dedicated servers with at least the capability of 30 players.

If TAG or another company . or an open source project could ever get ERT working in real MP modes .. what a winner!! For this reason alone .. I'm not sure ERT is DEAD or will be completely DEAD. .. and as I stated .. DEAD GAME is for the player to decide personally.... The source code .. who would own that and what would be done with it if TAG goes under .. that interests me :")

i suppose i should say that i agree with most of what you said

As a stand alone game ERT is top of my list and has been since i stumbled across a demo once upon a time

In terms of being a dead game what i really mean and what you actually alluded to is more a question of where next?

i wonder how much of chapter two has been completed? perhaps East could say?

is it feasible that someone else could take on the project and develop it further?

Whilst i agree with your comments about the forum not being dead and i agree it is a friendly seemingly vibrant community i have to wonder how far people will be willing to go with a game that is no longer made or supported let alone one that is not going to be developed further

like everyone here i'm sorry to see the end of hopes for the online version

and i truly wish that someone else could come along and take up the reins but i just doubt its gonna happen..

still i dont want anyone to take offense from my comments here either i think im just trying to spark some debate about the issue of what next
