Monthly or Weekly?
This depend on the nature of the submission. For examples:
Game News .. goes up almost daily.
Tides News .. ie what is happening around Tides .. Weekly.
Ezine .. ie Magazine article, adventures etc .. is monthly ( some sections quarterly).
Clubs would probably be monthly, however if you just 'won' that big contest, match or some outstanding feat of accomplishment .. we would put that up immediately, and then replay in the monthly. If clubs want a section, then they provide most of the content even its is only in the likeness/form of a newsletter.
Tides has two games coming to next year that will set a new trend in on line games. Our publications will take a major part of the 'role play' in a FPS type game. There will be official game 'backstories' and monthly lead stories .. then Tides will pick it up from there with the sub-plots involving our members game names and persona's. Those persona's are picked randomly by the game makers to work into the main story line and game play. Consider an example that is as close as I can come to presenting this concept almost correctly: Connect GI Joe Comic Book with Call of Duty2. The comic book is the Ezine that comes out Monthly or Quarterly, the characters in the GI Joe comic book match the artistic style of what you see in the game. Tides picks up the story line between issues similar to how the daily newspapers use to run Dick Tracy in the daily issue (black and white) with the main followup on Sunday ( full color). I just had to read those Dick Tracy episodes each week!. Not perfect example .. but real close........... Tides of War Publications is preparing for that type of publication needs; We hope to have full involvement and staff at an experienced level and ready to go when the games are released (one of those games has a very good likelihood of being beta-tested at Tides).
A Fantasy Receipe to consideration and explore: Imagine a Squad of IL2 piolots, that play a server that follows a lead story line .. where the outcome of the story is based on the player participation and Red/Blue wins .. throw in a heap of "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" artistic style without all the gizmo's .. now sprinkle that with some 'What Ifs", toss in an alternative history flare where the outcome is not known! Sound fun to me.... and a nice change.

On 25 May 1945 MCVG-2 began operations
One storyline - with associated historical mission could be to re-enact their escapades - it depends if there is enough achive history (Adam?) to be able to construct their missions. We may be able to miss out their logistic missions (Supply Drops etc) and focus on their combat missions.
I am hopoing that we conduct the first on the due date as we hav that mission ready to go on the server.
Just thoughts...
