I cant seem to get the calender or guild event manager working. if someones got time can they please
post instrutions on how to get them working

Nice that you have found our forum
Installing of the calendar goes as folowing :
Download the calendar from here (if you haven't already)
Unzip the file you downloaded, you will then get a folder named 'GroupCalendar' as a result.
Put the 'GroupCalendar' folder in your interface\addons folder inside your world of warcraft directory and thats it.
When you start the game the addon will be loaded and you will see a little extra button next to your mini-map. Clicking this little button wil open the options of the calender where you can set the channel to TidesCal (the Upper cases are important) with no password. You can also set the trust level somewhere in the options. You should set this to 'Everyone who has access to this channel'
If the setting of the channel or the trust level doesn't go right, but you do see the calendar you might wanne ask someone online in guildchat to help you out.
By the way, we also have a forum here for our coalition runs with the other guilds that can be found here. We use this to plan for Zul Gurub and in the near future Molten Core endgame instance raids. So if you want to join in future raids it might be wise to check that forum every now and then. You don't have to register for that forum, because you have done already on this forum and that one uses the same login details.
There is a post where people should add their character name and class if they want to participate to give everyone an idea about what classes are joining etc. That post can be found here
