Good advice. Especially the other drive bit. It's recommended that you install ERT to a secondary drive, although that's not always absolutely necessary. If you have more than 2 drives, you ought to have your page file on one, and ERT on the other.

Hey, guys, this same thing is happening to me. After having to unistall because my display was acting erratic, I tried to reinstall and pretty much got

the same move data error that Wartoy did:

An error occurred during the move data process:106

Componet: Music

File Group: Music

File: music.ezv

I explored the disc for a file named music.ezv and didn't find one.

Infact, there are no files in the setup disc with the word music (which is nuts since I now there is plenty of music in [b]E:RT)

Can anyone explain what is going on? I'd apprec1ate it, so I can get back to sailin'.

That file must be in one of the compressed cabs on the disc, because it's in the program folder when installed.

Obviously, the fact the same error happened at the same point means there's probably a common cause. Maybe a defective disc, or some data buffer issue at that point?

My gratitude for your speedy response.

At least now I have a tech. reference for what is going on.

Wartoy pm'd me that he'd gotten around the issue but cannot recall how.

Which is probably more irratating than knowing there's no fix. >:(

Now I've got to try to hunt it down (which may or may not work for me).

In the end, I'll probably wind up buying a new disc with hopes that will

end it all, but darn, I would really like to know the cure now that I have a probably cause.

Oh, well...such is life on the high seas! Image

by doing a little RESearch for the word music.ezv I found this and this

Both of them reccomends that you try install in safemode.

Good luck and let us know the result :)

Edit: here is a similiar topic, Searched for "cant AND reinstall"

Are you ready for this? I'm up and sailin' Big Time! Theta Sigma's reference to '...some data buffer issue...' suggested one last ditch effort. I navigated to Sys Properties and changed '...a greater share of memory' from programs to system cache. Bingo! That's all I did. Another re-install and lo, and behold, it worked. You tech guys could explain the whys and wherefors much better than I. All I know is once again I'm huntin' down bad guys on the high seas :!!:

Jesper, what a clever approach. Just because I'm in the Capt's chair again, don't think I'm not going to peusue your line of inquiry. Sounds intreging.

I learned something(s) else. Your search terms. I would never have thought of that.

One last thing (I'm bursting, here, man, wow! Image ): After my first trial patrol, I booted up and was told, no way. (Back to my original problem before the whole music.evu thing). I re-booted, it loaded this time. Seems every second attempt works. Strange. (maybe Safe Mode will answer this) Anyway, for now I'm just excited about being able to run again. Thanks, so much. all of you. =)
