Usn - Surface Mission #10b

Anyone got passed this one? I really struggle here. Tried it 15-20 times even sunk 5 other destroyers one time. But I end up dead by a 15 inch cannon or a soem torpedoes. Any trick/strategy for this mission.

Yes, I completed this mission by diving immediately, and heading straight
towards the Battleship.(see below) There is alot of fighting going on outside, and both sides are taking losses. Headed for the BB(which is pretty much moving southeast to northeast) and behind a screen of DD's and DE's and some crazy little ships that zig zag around faster than airplanes hehehhe.
Ignore the screen as much as possible, and keep heading pretty much
straight and port to find the BB.
From this point I have won the game two ways, sinking the BB and some other ships, and also "delaying the German Battlegruppe" enuff to win.

I found this one of the most enjoyable scenarios.

Well Wulf, I dive immediately too. The problem is, I"m a FREAKING DESTROYER!!!

Now, I must say..... I managed to juke and jive enough to stay out of the BBs way and send the rest of my ships in to cut 'em down.
Problem was, they didn't do enough damage. I stayed out of the way long enough to run out of fuel, and still managed to take out 3 U-boats while I was sittin dead in the water.
You would think on EASY they would answer your broadcast for resupply.

You would think on EASY they would answer your broadcast for resupply.
You can only Refuel from Tankers / Oilers
You can on ReSupply from Merchants
You can NOT ReSupply from PT, CV, DE, DD, BB or UBoats.
They do NOT want to ReSupply if it is too dangerours to lay still or if youre too far away etc..

Jesper, once again, thank you for the info.
Sometimes it's hard to figure out what it is that you are not doing that allows you to achieve your goal.
And seeing as how I was the only ship left besides the behemoth that sent me to my soggy demise, there was no possibility of refueling.

Anyone with some helpful advice?
I've tried the following;
Keep distance from K.W. and send fish from afar, while ording other ships to attack the K.W. One problem, is that I can only order 2 subs. All the DDs & DE's outrank me. Sometimes PTGs come in and I can order 2-3 of them.
Go after K.W. with torps and guns. (can you see it coming?) But I end up with several 15 inch gaping holes in my hull.
I've played until there is only the K.W. left, with some air cover. See mission log above.
Which direction should I take my strategy?

Searching this one , after the patches .
After everything else was sunk , and no torpedoes left , I thought I'd play for time , got as far away as 17,000 K from the KW .
After a while it speeded up , and headed after me at 24 knots , mine was 17 .
Evaded , altered course and even rolled charges at intervals , in hope this would confuse the KW.
Finally , when the KW was still 15,000 k away , a SWARM of aircraft which had hung around above it , all streamed my way .
That did it , even tho' I got half of them first !
