I've played it. It's interesting. Isometric view, very odd gameplay (big groups of people shooting masses of torpedoes at each other) - you circle around each other till you are dead (or they are), last man standing wins for his team.

Has a financial (upgrade) aspect to it. Interface is a little tough to navigate. I had fun with it.

Do historical events/battles take place in it?

I would say "No" to the question of re-enactments or historical battles & such, from some experience I had with Navy Field a few months ago.. its like starcraft/warcraft/command&conquer in zerg/rush mode most of the time.

the only problem i had with it, was that you have to play SOOOOOO much to even earn enough money to build larger vessels... i just gave up after i started breaking even all the time in a DD
