I have a nephew coming over this week and was wondering if there was a way of changing the voice setting so he could try his hand. I see in the preferences that I can change the name of the captain. I'm doubtful that this will reset the original settings to the default?

naah the voice control isnt adjustable from within E:RT, however you can in Windows's control panel->Speech create a 2ndary speech profile that he can use. just remember to swich back to yours/the default one when you need to play.

Also remember that he needs to train the new profile youre creating.

Multiple names of captains are no problem , change and return to any as you like .

( I use some with an extra space e.g. BARON KIRK & BARONKIRK )

I sometimes like to begin a new series wih the corvettes and DEs instead of DD which you have after completion .

Speech profile didn't need much training for me , likely not necessary .

( Just tell him to speak exactly as you do . )

Yeah likewise, I did three sessions of talking to the old speech program but didn't really make much of a difference. I think I still have a couple things that aren't recognized but it doesn't really matter. Sometimes I get the "Dive, Dive, Dive" which seems to come out of no where. Maybe something I don't hear with the head set on that causes it. All in all I'm pretty impressed by the voice recognition.
