Engage Target Question.

When choosing "engage target", will your gunners continue to fire at the selected target until another target is chosen or your target is sunk? In other words, if you click on your own ships to see if they still have a target I'm assuming the gunners will continue on the chosen target correct?

2nd stupid question, when sinking and you have fish in the water, if you click escape before they hit a target, will the hit still show up on your final page or would you have to wait for your ship to go completly under water before everything is counted.

3rd stupid question. (I'm on a roll) When a fish is reported in the water what do each of the numbers mean? I'm sure one is distance and one is either the direction it's coming from or the direction it's going but I think there are three numbers if I remember correctly. Or is it like 90 degrees at your right and 180 at your tail as in relationship to your own ship.

1: They keep shooting at it till the target sinks or they are given new orders or they runs outta ammo, or you take manual control over the gun(s).

2: The hit is counted when you see the "X sunk Y with a torpedo at Z meters" message

3: I dont recall, it was once explained.

the torpedo warning is given as a bearing relative to your vessel ( green or red ), the range of the torpedo from your vessel and the direction in which the torpedo is heading

bear in mind that some of the vessels have their relative bearings reversed at the moment..... ie red is green and vice versa

maxim has produced some excellent graphics on this forum which explain this and other topics very clearly 8-)
