My favorite movie as listed in one of the other posts is "The Hunley".
It's a true story of a civil war sub in 1864.
The Hunt for red October
K19
U-571
Destination Tokyo
Operation Pettycoat - old comedy with Tony Curtis and Cary Grant. Has my dad's Fletcher DD568 in it.
Movie's I didn't care too much for:
Crimson Tide
Das Boot

Well, it's been so long since I watched Das Boot, I should probably watch it again before I diss it. From what I remember, I didn't care for the sub titles and just didn't bother watching it a second time even though I've got it on dvd. As far as Crimson Tide, I thought it was too politically correct, and too much bad language that didn't have to be in there. I guess your typical hollyweird slant.

I hated Crimson Tide. It started well, but once it became, "mutiny, counter-mutiny, counter-counter-mutiny, counter-counter-counter-mutiny," etc, it got dull and predictable.
Gene Hackman and Denzel Washington were great, however.
And Hunt for Red October is a classic. Sean Connery is simply hilarious.
"Give me a ping, Vasily."
That's the voiceover I'd KILL for in Enigma.

I agree 100% with that. But somehow, I still love it. Its a great representation of the modern nuclear attack sub....Plus, hackman and washinton? yeah. godd film regardless.
