To the best of my knowledge, when radar is set to 500M the total radius showen is 500M. each ring of the radar represents about 125M in this view (500 / 4 = 125)

This is correct.

It's easily discernable by moving to within about 125 meters of a friendly ship and looking at the ship's position in the TAC.

Hedgehos are contact explosives, which means they will only explode if they actually hit a submarine. Kind like a depth charge where you can't set a depth.

In the game? Definitely not!

In real life? I would doubt it.

But this would make for an interesting new modern hedgehog weapon. When a group of hedgehogs is launched and hit the water, if any one of them detect touching a target (magnetic detection?), those charges would send off a radio signal that would also trigger all the other nearby charges from the same launch.

Or are hedgehogs just antiquated and that's that?
