This is a game where it would be fun to put the audio through my stereo into the room occaisionally. (It happens I've got a hand made sub woofer the size of a steamer trunk, with it's own 200 watt amp that can rattle the window panes.)
As things are now big sound would defeat the voice control.
How about an option for putting the microphone on mute by default then have a key assigned to simultaneously activate the mic and reduce the game audio by 90% or some other user selectable percentage?
An option for big sound might add something to the game.
Apologies if this has been suggested already.
Charlie

good suggestion. You can use the "V" key to toggle it on and off...
We designed it with Andrea technologies noise cancelling mic in mind. You can have music blasting and it will still recognize you.

Really, well, with all due respect East, that does not seem the case for me. Every time I cruise a sub along the surface and a plane overflies me, a torpedo is fired.
(Incidently, I am using a Jensen microphone headset.)

Andrea technologies stereo microphones come with a codec that does an amazing job of filtering out everthing but your voice coming to it from the center.
The only hope with situations like you are explaining is to train the SAPI profile several times and set the accuracy slider all the way up. It makes a big difference.

My intention is to suggest things for future versions. I'll try to limit myself to what I think is easy to do compared to the benefits but i'm not a programmer.

P.S. I made my money as an inventor\entrepreneur (not in computer fields). I started tinkering on the kitchen table, built and operated my own production system and did the marketing and promotion too.
I'm a compulsive idea man so when I like something and have the ear of management I can't resist offering suggestions.
The best encouragement the developers can give people like me help us understand what's hard and what's easy to develop. The best ideas have lots of benefit and are reletively easy to do.
Thanks again for the feed back

Charlie,
Glad to meet another entrepreneur. Your input is always welcome. I consider all input from the forums to be brainstorming. That means all ideas go "on the board" here in the office. We'll pare them down by value and difficulty as we move towards the next phase of the project.
Bring those ideas!

LOL I love this idea East !!
Its a must have in the game !
But instead of "the drunker they get, the less accurate there shots are" we replace with the Drunker they are the more of thier own ships they sink
I really hate FF when I am drinking

So, we could have this new tactic, when we are desperately wounded, out of ammo, and being followed by the enemy battleship.. we simply float kegs of rum off the stern in the hope they could be distracted and slow down the pursuers, then we ram them in the dark when they are too drunk to swim...
or we keep it for ourselves and get one last chance to numb the impending pain of defeat.
