Hello guys and girls,
I just downloaded the demo and I'm looking forward to play it tonight. The subject of the game and the very pretty pictures have got me definitly interested in this game but I've got a couple quostions regarding the christmas release and the free downloads.
First due to my play style I'm mostly interested in the single player part of the game.
Oke the questions:
Based on several posts I've reachted the following conlucisons; the retail version contains chapter 1 whicht goes to roughly 1940. Around christmas a new stand alone version will become available with a new chapter which I understand to go from 1940 to some later date, right? This one is also known as the Addon.
Possibly in july a patch wil be made available which adresses bugfixes and several enhancments to the game.
Now, does this mean that if I do not by the Christmas addon I'm limited to fight battles which do not exceed the year 1940?
If I don't go multiplayer I will never get the change to drive the big guns?
Will support and upgrades continue to be applicable the first, original, release or will only the latest, released, versions receive attention?
Anyway I'd as a message to the developers I'd like to say that the concept of Enigma is refreshingly original. Cudo's for that! It has been a long time since a refreshinly novel concept has been developed by the games industry.
Keep it up

As answer to a couple of your questions:
The current single player end in the year of 1937.
After that...
Here in july there will be a free of charge (download) addon/patch, where lots of changes has been made (all for the better ofcuz)
Next christmas (this year) a new chapter will be released, and this chapter continues where the current left off. (1937->????)
If you dont want to buy any additional chapters you wont be able to get past 1937, but only play the missions that are included in the current retail CD.
Maybe the devs are considering making new missions for the retail, along side with the chapter addons, but I doubt it.
If you dont want to play online nor buy addition chapters, then you will never ride the big ships.
Im pretty sure that there will be support for every version, and that patches will be created for each, if any bugs shows up.
I hope that answered some of your questions, Im sure EAST be here shortly to correct me, if I said something wrong, or some plans has changed
Nope, not much to correct. Singleplayer indeed covers 1937, at least up to the end of October 1937.
With the multiplayer, all upgrades are included in the price of admission. With singleplayer however, since we couldn't afford to self-publish, we are pretty well hamstrung as to what we can do there.
Christmas is not set in stone at the moment. Because of the delays in getting the North American release out, a full release for Christmas may not be possible, it may be a Gold version of this SinglePlayer with a built in multiplayer client. Then again it could be a lower priced add-on. We were hoping to release at least 1 full chapter , several free upgrades and a retail add-on each year. Time will tell if we can pull it together.
We currently have 4 different publishers we are working with as well as the upcoming multiplayer. Keeping it all in sync is not always possible.
We will not be abandoning our players. Best case, we will continue to offer regular free upgrades to single-player, worst case; we will at least get 1 good upgrade in a year.
Enigma is a 3 year project for us. That is 3 years from launch of support, upgrades, enhancements and refinements. Many changes will be player driven - as you will see in the upcoming patch - helping us to be sure and keep Enigma true to the original vision and design, but also as fully encompassing of our players requests as is possible.

I have a number of questions/suggestions concerning the upcoming multiplayer mode:
1.) As I have read it, the chapters will be payware. Will they be publioshed in the conventional way (stores) or simply via internet?
2.) As I am a poor unfortunate European who does NOT own a credit card, will there be a suitable payment option for the likes of me? (Concerns internet distribution)
I hope i did not mix anything up. Its just that I am curious.
Oke let's see if I got it strait. Chapters and Addon needs to be paid, upgrades are free but only apply for the latest retail chapter or addon. We were hoping to release at least 1 full chapter , several free upgrades and a retail add-on each year. Time will tell if we can pull it together.

Chapters and Addons are free for multiplayer subscribers.
By the way, I have been playing your demo and I love it. Great work
