Well, after seven subsequent reinstalls of ERT the patch finally worked and I am now fully upgraded to Gold.

Boy what a pain in the ass!
Really happy to see that this game has a good following. So many of the good ones are squashed before they can really fly. Looking forward to testing my first custom mission. Who knows, I might create something worth sharing one of these days. =D
My thanks to the Tesseraction crew for creating this gnarly sim (because I love it love it love it) and for supporting the addon community. Also, muchos gracias to the good souls in this community who make modding worthwhile. =)
See y'all around sometime!
Cheers.
Matt

Ahoy thar Captn!
It's a great game and worth any troubles you may have come accross. Once multiplayer is released i'm sure the game will become even better!
Heh, there are pirates in Enigma to. Submariners have been reffered to as pirates on many occasions. It was common (even tradition) for submarines of the royal navy to return to port flying the Jolly Roger. This caused some problems during the England - Argentina conflict where an English sub returned to port flying the pirate emblem after sinking a warship. I suppose it wasn't politically correct.

I spent a day reinstalling until I got the SAPI to work with the patched-to-Gold original version. No regrets. Time well spent.

No regrets here either. Although I never have looked forward to installing a new patch.
At any rate, this latest version simply rules uber alles! Ever since I first caught wind of custom missions I've been drooling, longing for the day when it would finally become real. *continues waxing poetic for quite some time, stopping every once in awhile to nudge everybody awake*
Glad to be here, because now I have some questions to ask down in the Modding section. Tootles.

Ok, minor update here then....because the MMOG version is taking so long (and is still going to take awhile) we are going to release Chapter 2 with lan based multiplayer. Glen worked up the design for the stand-alone server today.

Two quick questions-
1. Is it only LAN play or will we be able to play over internet? (I could perhaps host an Aust dedicated server depending on min server specs, Linux compatability would be a plus.)
2. Will there be Land or a bottom to the ocean?

Lan includes over the internet play. Probably limited to 12 players per server - possibly mission based rotating "maps".
No, there will not be land or a bottom to the ocean in CH2...at least it's not in the plans for CH2. Time will tell.

Hmm, well I guess shore bombardments are out of the question. As well as beaching my sub full throttle while frightened sunbathers scatter and run away.

Ah, yes the
General Belgrado, aka USS
Phoenix, the first warship sunk in battle since 1945, and the only Cruiser so far.

Thats the one. I saw a good documentary on it but didn't know it was once the Phoenix.
