Tesseraction Games for producing this wonderful piece of software. I have played Destroyer Command, Silent Hunter II, Wolfpack 3D, but none of them ever really engaged me. I saw this game and decided to take a chance on it.
The realisim is spectacular... and I am only running the game at about half potential. I have a P4 Laptop with a Radeon 9000 Video Card and JBL Pro Speakers, but I still can't run the program maxed because it slows the system down too much.
That being said, the ships, the water, they are all gorgeous. The level of detail and realisim would only be enhanced if there were people manning the guns and running about the decks!
Someone really did their homework... ships sink the way ships really sink... as compartments flood. They take their time as a real ship would... the props move... the rudders move... it's an amazing sim, and I am most appreciative to have it.
I am playing 3.0.1 US Gold edition, BTW, just bought at EB Games in Fishers, Indiana. Should I be considering a patch for it?
Anything else I should know about the ERT universe or community?

You should grab the mini gold patch for your gold retail, it allows you to create and play custom missions.

I just purchase My GOLD EDITION copy the other day from GAMESTOP,how do I find my version and do you install the international Mini-Patch or just Mini-Patch only? I too have to say this new and improved game has me going,I also purchase the Silent Hunter III and play both. One offers something that the other doesn't and thats why , not going to put either one down because I like both. Maybe next time on the wish list they can allow us to walk through the U-Boat or Ship, a virtual walk and command type of thing. Right now you only click on one station area at a time which is ok but if you really want to make it real let us walk through our subs and ships like you would in the real ships and subs. I thought I would get this out is the open just in case they are reading this, thanks for a great Sim!

The version number should show in the upper left corner, just before the spalash screen (I cant recall if it also shows on the StarForce3 window)?
It helps a lot if you guys would put your location in your profile and/or mention it when you ask such questions.
Another way to tell is to check where the game defaults its install to, I would belive the US/Intl installs to C:?\Program Files\Dreeamcatcher\Enigma.....\ that is version 3.0.1 and it is allready patched with the minipatch.
Version 3.0.0 installs to C:\Program Files\PointSoft\Enigma.....\ this version isnt patched and needs the "Mini Patch" in order to enable custom missions (play and create).
If you are still unsure, download the 12MB mini patch, extract it to a temp dir, run the EPatch.exe and if you get "Bad Install" you likely have 3.0.1.

Reminder for USA customers.. USA GOLD version already is patched to 3.01 (which is what the GOLD mini-patch does for customers in other countries) - so no patch needed at time of this posting for usa.
Jesper - It helps a lot if you guys would put your location in your profile and/or mention it when you ask such questions.
Very good idea Jesper, might I also suggest making a mention in the download section just above each patch which type of customer needs the patch?

Thanks everyone for the information on where to find the version number and about the Mini Patch. Looking at my one disk it tells me under Compact Disk ( Version DPV1.0 ) there is PC0448CD above that if that tells you anything. I'll check back later and thanks again for taking in my suggestions on your next ENIGMA project.
