Can anyone please give an advice on completion of single player mission #3 - where you confront 3 subs and 5 bombers with mere a 2 corvettes. I tried this misson for about 50 times now and I just keep being sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk sunk... Please advice!!!

First advice: Play on difficult mode. Next, orient yourself so that the submarines are in each others way for firing torpedoes. Assign your partner to one of the subs (keep him busy and out of your fight). Keep the gunners at battlestations.

I am not so experienced so require some further assistance.

Assign your partner - probably means that you should ...

open the big tactical display -

use your mouse to draw a square around some/all your allies -

they are now "highlighted" -

click the word "attack" -

now click on which enemy you want your partner(s) to attack -

Read some of the postings on the forum.

I see Capt. Maxim is just replying....

You can also click on indivual allies ( partners ) and order to attack etc .

Difficult - means you are seen less easily - but also see less easily .

Take a look thru the earlier postings .

Difficult mode will be nearer to multiplayer too .

Thanks for the assistance. But I must the the freshiest rookie ever on this site. Or perhabs my game is not patched enough.

Is "difficult" a option somewhere in the game? How to find this option?

How can I open a big tactical display?

From the MAIN menu of the game click on PREFERENCES>.. look for the [easy][difficult] button... click it...

The big tactical display can be opened with the voice command "MAP UP" and closed with voice command "MAP DOWN".. or you can click the tiny button with a round symbol on it located between the throttle and the "A" & "B" control panel indicators to the right of the throttle..

Basically you should try to click anything that has been painted onto your game screen until you are convinced that nothing will cause a massive meltdown in your computer... and you might run across a few things you hadnt discovered yet.

yUP . I was gonna say that .. Click click click, and familiarise with the controls etc , keyboard commands and voice . It takes a little while , you'll soon pick it up , and people will wonder why you are sitting close to your desk SHOUTING .

Just tell them you have gone to sea .

You'll get strange looks but they will not ask more .

Take a look at the manual - and somewhere in Enigma folder are voice commands - but check the forum here too - There's a bit about that .

P will pause the game ..V mutes/unmutes voice command ( I forget to UNMUTE sometimes until I realise that SHOUTING LOUDER still has no effects.

Very useful to know the keys to press AND voice commands - some of the missions need both . or it is TRULY DIFFICULT !

Playing on " Difficult " is advised .

Thanks everybody for their replies. I've figured out that I was playing obsolete vesrion 1.037.

I've got myself commercial version few days ago. Wow!!! That is really cool game!
