Ramming Subs

Had a doozy of a day (well, night after work). Ran one patrol (one with milch cow, played IGN) on the go. Sunk three (count 'em!) subs in 20 mins. Ran same patrol again, went to ram a sub, but "ran aground on it" as it couldn't decide whether to surface or submerge. Sub took no damage as I rested corvette on top (!) of it, and as I jigged the rudder and throttle controls to get free it torped me as I edged across it's bows. Now I mean right in front by only a few metres, and the sub took no hurts, and my corvette was stuffed. Any one else experienced this wee problem? I'm wondering if you have to hit the sub right on the conning tower to give it grief, but even if a corvette is of a shallower draught than a DE, the conning tower sticks out of the sea by a fair bit?
Yes i've had that problem a couple of times.(yesterday infact)
It's *worse* if you have taken a torp hit and try to ram an 'undecided' sub, your speed is seriously hindered.
I was chasing one of those 'will i,wont it' subs and gaining on it painfully, when i just settled ontop of it and the two of us came to a standstill.
It's a few-and-far-between scenario but a pain when you've been hunting this sub for an hour...
I've found that if you try and just pass very close to the sub and depth charge it, even though it's semi-submerged you'll sink it.(the charges which are fired clear will do the biz)
East has said they are working on the collision detection in the forth coming patch -there has been many occasions when playing as part of a unit of subs i've came close underwater to one of my own and we just 'stick' togetherSometimes you can free yourselves, other times you have to restart
Glad to see I'm not the only one using a sticky bottomed boat
A fix for this is included in the Patch (delayed btw until next week).
No worries. The game demands a degree of patience any way. I have made a point of aiming dead for the conning tower, rather than the fore/ aft decks. I find that once you have crunched them, hitting full astern, then once you have moved backwards by about a boat length pivoting left or right seems to do the trick more often than not. It's not a nice experience when the torp bells began to ring as you are stopped on a sub. Love this game...
I was playing a RNE sub mission. I was hulk lurking and suddenly my sub wouldn't move anymore. I tried every combination of fore/back port/starb I could think of. Then I assumed the game was stuck and switched to spectator view to say g'bye to the sub before dumping it.only to see a bloody destroyer I'd killed stuck on the front of my sub. I figured no-one would ever believe me so was about to take a screen shot (still meaning to switch the game off) when the destroyer disappeared and I could play on.
