Why have you change the great ocean color in the retail version?
I've played all the demos except the last one and now i get my retail version and the water is brown grey or whatever but not this impressed blue one from the demos. Now a friend told me the color has changed with the last demo, the one i didn't play If I would have played the last demo, then I didn't bought this Game now. With this bad ocean now, all the feeling you sail on real water is gone! No matter if the sun shines bright or it rains, always this grey water Good gameplay and eye candy are equal partners in games today but you devs has kicked the second one away. Go out and learn from other companys how game design works, I will watch out to sell this game as fast as possible to get something from this false spend money back.

there was a previous post about this very issue. many people do agree that the new water isnt as appealing as the old one. there may be a revert to the old style water in a later version.

NO one ever accused the north atlantic of being pretty!
can't say i have noticed the colour myself... but it would be nice to see some variation with weather and depth...

While this has been discussed in another forum:  We certainly seem to have made a tactical error in our adjustments to the ocean - and rest assured we will fix them.
We did many hours of research on the look of the North Atlantic in different weather and times of year.  It is a surprisingly unlovely ocean most of the time - flat grey mostly, some dark blues, interesting dark colors at dawn/dusk.  We decided to go with realistic instead of cinematic with the ocean there.  We should have stuck with what we have done with the rest of the game and go with the Hollywood portrayals and not real life.

We will be updating the water to look more like we expect it to look and less like it really looks.

If you have patience, it will pay off.

Would it be possible to have it as an option? To be honest I like the realism. Then if the mission/campaign stated I was in the Med I'd change it to blue - where I assume it will be 'bluer' (?). For me at least it will give a feeling of being stationed on another (water) front.

Annnnd you bring up the other issue.  We didn't have a mechanism for setting ocean colors based on location.  Most of the battles are taking place in the North Atlantic.  We created the pallete for there but not the other areas.  We are implementing the ability to do this properly now.
We aren't going to go completely nuts on the water reversion - there will be a balance between Hollywood and RL.  We will try to get some feedback on it before we patch.

please please please dont make it too blue!!! perhaps as a weather connected variable? on clearer days have it that rich deep blue we all love and on stormy days have it slate grey with green tinges!

variety is the name of the game i think.... every day i drive along the beach on the way to work (just east of the solent) and one day it looks like a tropical sea (good day) and others its brown or grey (bad day) but that is the whole appeal to me...it is always different!

I'm with you Thompsen on the location/weather/time of day dictating the sea condition/look. 

I have to be supicious of anyone who would say they are selling their copy of Enigma just because the hue of the Ocean is not the shade of blue they like.....Is it just me?  Let me break out my Windows paint program and design the perfect game. Just send me your prefered color with a check and I will have your Blue Ocean ready in 6 weeks that is as long as you don't expect something playable. 
Also If you really want to sell your copy I know about 100 Americans who would love to take it off your hands.

yeah the North Atlantic isnt that pretty and romantic instead its rough and unforgiveable and takes toll. I fully concur with Mister Thompsen, too.

If the ocean is churned up due to heavy weather it reflects more grey and brown but it changes when the North Atlantic shows good mood and the sun breaks through the clouds the ocean reflects mostly dark blue.
