Tides of War

I just saw the latest video for Silent Hunter III. They've been focussing a lot on the capital ships in their advertising, but as far as I know, you can't command the surface ships or the airplanes. This could create a pent-up demand for the type of gameplay that Enigma provides!

Actually I am amazed they missed the opportunity to provide a fully featured product if this is true. Being able to play both surface and sub in a relatively realistic environment was the great attraction of Enigma for me - and still is

well the game is in alpha, so it could develope a surface ship element, or DCII will popup out of nowhere.

well if DCII is good as DCI then they can keep there game in the storage area.....and blow it up.

SHIII is in late beta - it will likely release for Christmas (Septemberish). They will no doubt create DC2.

I'm pleased that we have generated such a strong interest in naval combat games again...kinda...

Agreed, I got the add on to SHII, the Pacific Aces Campaign, and I would rather play it than the SSI German side of it. Many things I like , and some things I do not. I can admit, it is kinda nice hearing sound clips from a movie and the people using the technical terms that went along with diving the ship. I also love watching the Gato class submarine going underwater. Kinda reminds me of those old movies with C. Grant , trying to sneak into Tokyo Bay (although I did try that and it sux cause Tokyo Bay in the game is shallow)
