Tides of War

Both look very much like pre WW1 cruiser designs to me (4 smokestacks/coal engines, mainguns with traverse limited to one side) but I can't remember any ships with the same armament/speed/design.

Are those 2 units fantasy creations which just look like (by 1937) outdated ships or are they actually based on any real ships?

Its based off of a world war one destroyer i cant remeber the name right now but dont worry all of these guys are navl freaks so your bound to get an answer

It came to me !!!!!! yes i remeber its based off of the edmund

Germany had no Destroyers in WW1.

They had small cruisers to do the job the (torpedoboat-)destroyers had in other navies.

Also there wasn't a ship called Edmund in the Kaiserliche Marine (Imperial Navy) as far as I know.

I think its the name of the class or something

There is no class with a name similar to Edmund

There is the Emden class but its design is only distantly related to the DD we have ingame

The Corvette is based off a real life German design for a captured Flower class.

The DE is a Wickes class Destroyer - 4 piper - purchased from the USA (we stayed out of the war remember).

The DD is the EMDEN, we decided to modify her a little to give her more speed and have her do dual duty for the IGN with Merchant Raiding and escorts. The Wickes is a better sub-hunter tho.

The BB's are sister ships to the Hood.
