Read this before voting!
Because of the amount of time in front of us to get multiplayer done and out the door, we are looking at alternatives to get you playing sooner (and therefore helping us make Career Mode MP better).
The current thought:
An "Iron Wolves" mode of Enigma would be released for multiplayer. This means open ocean, a couple of Island groups (small), some shore batteries and full on Team Deathmatch, but nothing else. No recruitment to speak of, you just earn better ships. Still 3 factions and a public scoreboard. It would still be subscription but in the form of 24 hour Ticket Packs.
Beta and the free month stuff would be reserved for Career Mode (the REAL version of E:RT Multiplayer).
What do you think?

I think that IW-Idea is great, it would also bring in some funds for you, and some play time for us

(which im sure most are dying for) hehe:
I support both, it has been worth the wait all the time, so a year more wouldnt kill me.

Hm. I'd probably say IW-Style of multiplayer if it werent for Sea Borne. I'll change my vote if the IW-Style is also available in eight-player LAN format for an extra $30. buxton:

IW style will be fun and a good way to hone our skills and form our Task Forces while we prepare for Career Mode.

The Iron Wolf Idea is really thoughtful, however I would rather see you guys dedicate 100% focus on getting the real MP up and running.
Of course that also takes a Lot of money and with the lawsuit pending thats causing
a major delay.
Maybe continue work on the next patch , introduce the air planes in next release
give us a taste of what there gonna be like, maybe include a land base in which
you can fortify and man artillery.

It raises some questions, i made a little list with some important factors:
1: How much will it cost per day ticket?
2: How many hours is 1 day ticket?
3: -> If its 24 hours, can it be spread over X days?
4: Can you pay for more than 1 ticket at once?
5: -> If you pay for a week, but only plays 5 hours a day for 3 days that week, will your tickets carry over to next week?
6: How will the server maintain your played hours?
7: What happens if your time is up whilst youre in the middle of a game?
8: How big will the client.zip file be?
9: What payment methods are available?
10 Other information that you can provide.

We will likely follow the IW example pretty closely:
Day tickets cost $1, you can buy them 10 or 20 at a time. Once you start a ticket it lasts for 24 hours. I expect we will have 7 day passes as well, they are good for a consecutive 7 day period once you start the pass. 7 Day passes will be $5.
Payment initially will be by credit card. We will try to get some additional options up quickly.
If your time is up in the middle of a game it will warn you and then either the next time you die it will block you from re-entering. If you have additional tickets or if you choose to use a permanent account (registered credit card) the system will ask you to confirm starting a new ticket, or purchasing one.
If you don't own the singleplayer the download will be about 650mb. Yes it will be available as a CD on Demand, hopefully even an inexpensive add-on you can buy in a retail shop. If we are able to keep to our plan, the download will always be free. If you own singleplayer it should be less than 20mb.

What sort of time frame are we looking at for each option? I assume the deathmatch variable will be released sooner. If it makes econmic sense go for it. I think we want TAG to stay in buiness more than we want an MMPOG being hurridly realeased only to colapse like a flan in a cupboard.
I would however like some way to train a taskforce. Would it be possible to have co-op against AI?
On the payment side of things I would rather pay monthly than $1 every 24 hours. Unless of course the timer only counts down when I'm playing. Then that makes sense. Either way. Keep the company afloat. You have the support of many enthusiastic gamers. enigma!:
