hey all

I'm new to Enigma (Played the demo) and am just about ready to buy the game as I've fallen in love with it lol... commanding a sub underwater is just so awesome.

I didn't know where to find this information so I'll just ask it here:

- The campaign sounds amazing, but is there a 'skirmish' or 'quick battle' mode where I can designate how many ships and/or allies I have and just get right into the action?

- The Multiplayer version is coming soon, if not yet. I heard that you have to buy a new game to play the multiplayer version (I'm not talking about the monthly fee)... is this true?

Hi and welcome.

Besides the campaigns, there is a patrol mode.

You cant choose how many vessels to join the battle(s), you can control the weather, sea conditions and time of day. There is also random patrols, so you never knows what youre going up against, or how many allies you have by your side. Infact you can end up being all on your own in a submarine and face several dusins of warships.

You wont need to buy the Single Player game to play online, you can just download the MP client when it is released, however, buying the SP gives you several benefits and advantages, to list some of them:

A: You can practice your skills, so you dont get sunk in MP every other minute

B: With your purchase you recieve 30 days free MP

C: With your purchase you support a kick-bum Gaming Co.

D: With your purchase you get a chance to help develop a game to make it even better.

..I was wondering about that " Client" Jesper,,,,East mentioned a " This client" ..

Can you explain,,

1. With my UNPATCHED UK CD ,, Will I be able to play MP when time comes ?

2. Any idea of the " Client" download size,, I mean will it ne comparable to the patches ..e.g. 100MB,, and need about SEVEN HOURS on a dial -up !!

I have played this a year or so.. since finding the demo in a magazine , and getting the CD a month or less even ..later .

If you thought the demo was good... You might be amazed at the CD with voice command etc .

You wont need the SP CD at all to play, but then your client will be of a much greater size.

Without the SP CD the MP Client will be about 600MB (last known info).

With the SP CD the MP Client will be about 100MB (last known info).

I dont know if the SP needs to be fully patched to play, East will know

If you havent downloaded any of the Patches, youre really missing out on some new great stuff, I can understand that you dont wanna spend hours doing it on dialup, cant blame you for that, but the patches lifts the game to a higher level.

You should ask a friend with BroadBand to download and burn them to cd for you.

If none of your BroadBand friends have a CDBurner, you can take your Harddisk out of your case and bring it to the one that does the downloads for you and plug it in to his and then just transfer the zip files that way.

Its an online website and it'll take a week or two to arrive (they didn't have any stock)/

Can't wait for it to arrive lol.. I've just been playing the demo over and over again to keep me busy in my free time hehe

So many demos lol... I don't know which is which!

I have the Enigma Offline demo which I downloaded from fileplanet. It has two American missions (sub and boat). Do the other demos let you use different civs?

Yes they do

one of em, i think its recruiting demo 5, puts you in a german u-boat

one of em lets you be a LFN vette... or sub (its been like 4 months since i unistalled em lol )

Most of them are very out of date, but the top 3 are pretty good (if i remember correctly)

If your on a slower connection then maybe you should just stick with the one you've got now... if not, dl a few of them demos
