Anyhoo, what better time to discuss possible rule changes? It's not like -[Terror]-, or myself, are too busy playing in the UKAA 2 Squad League.
True, why did you even bring this topic up? Your not even in a squad and not flying in any match. As we will be flying in the next snl im sure and other matches. So you don't like the tag's due to the "fun" of killing your buddy and not knowing who it is while in a (MATCH), but in ffa or teams your saying no one should fly under a tag that isnt there original as everyone should fly 1 tag and that should be there name that everyone knows? I doubt it! And good luck on that. People fly different names so they don't get targeted, simple. Being targeted in a match sucks and by flying in matches with the tag's the way they are, there isn't any targeting. Some have problems with other squad and this way eliminates this problem. I can guarantee that everyone in this community has at least 2 tags or more. Even yourself have a few tags so peeps don't know who you are also you as a sysops have the ability to look into an account to see whos who, as a non sysops doesn't have that advantage as you said in the earlier post.
Tulla,
That wasn't a shot at me about the Minnesota Viking's, was it?

Your talking about men that get paid millions of dollars to play a game and thousands of people watching. In this game no ones watching except the ref and the people that might be sitting, but they can't see the playing field anyway as all they can watch would be whos killing who on the top of there screen. The only advantage to this rule is simple. This rule would be giving the other team the chance to hunt the better pilot or going after the best on that team, thats it period. By not seeing who's who takes that focus away for everyone and no one has to worry about hows our best player doing, if that persons out then we might not have a chance. I figured TKFM would be tooting the own horn as they have not changed there tags (yet) as they my never change them. My hats off to you

but you will always have the option to do so whenever you want. I am very shocked that FD hasn't responded to this tag deal seeing that they came up with the letters (no slamming you guys at all but just wondering why you wouldn't be responding is all). Warships came up with the same kind of tag's as us as a few others and no one is responding why they did it? Unreal, mabey no one on those squads are looking at this thread

Again as I stated before this is for the smoothness of a match so no one is hunted and the focus is off the better players.

Fury, I guess the advantage of such a ?tactic? for a squad or its top-players is obvious, so you don?t really need to point it out again. But thank you anyway.
Now let?s highlight the disadvantages. I?m sure your squad hasn?t any, so please you don?t need to post that. Try to get the point of view of a referee, who needs to crosscheck tags in order to ensure there is no ?multisquading? in progress over and over again, the point of view of your opponents, who don?t need to use Teamspeak anymore in order to report player X is damaged hard and near the US-base, go and finish him and finally try to get the point of view of those who are ?friends?who fighting ?friends? from within a gamer community and now start to fighting ?unknown? planes with ?unknown?tags. As well you could go and playing a game where you have AI controlled planes as opponents. The personality of a player is a big and important part of the game and its community and not the stupid tactical advantage of a single squad.
I would say it?s an ?ethic?question to resist on the use of such a ?tactic?. I hope you can get it and understand the meaning of the word.

Does that mean a team with 10 pilots in the arena can use 7 pilots, while a team which has only 6 pilots in the arena is punished because it has only 6 available ?
Yes, exactly. But it does rather depend on why they have only 6 doesn't it? How will you ever know that they don't have 7 or 8 but prefer to fly only their 6 best? The extra pilot rule will certainly discourage this.
Also, like I said, it is a compromise. You can choose to see it as a punishment to the side who can only field six but is that any better than punishing the side who field 10 as we do now?

So what your saying is take the "STUPID" tactics out of this game. So lets not shoot anyone or the use of teamspeak shouldn't be allowed cuz that is also a tactic of the game? We should love everyone thats flying and we should all hold hands while flying, blow kisses instead of blowing there tail off? And always say good kill cuz thats ethical. Again most all of squads have done the name change for match events not just us so don't single us out and lets use ethics by telling people what tags they can and cannot fly with? You may think this is ethical but really by taking the freedom of what peoples tag they want to fly as in a match or flying ffa or teams is not ethical! Ethics in a match is not to runway, not to go out of bounds so you have to chase someone 2 miles away and starting on time so peeps don't have to wait. Simple? obviously not for you as your opinion is the right one and thats it, no one can have an opinion as you have stated a few times as they are all "STUPID" by having tactics in this game. I think Temper you have opened up a can of worms that mabey shouldn't have been open as this is starting to turn into personal attacts then more of opinions and a discussion.

This is the topic that everyone should be looking at to change, not the tags. The # of pilots should be the same throughout the game no matter what, no advantage no disadvantage for either sides. Now Ive seen it in the snl where a squad fielded 5 pilots only and instead of a forfeit they flew the 5 and the other squad flew 6 cuz they fielded 6 or more. That is the only time the #s should be different cuz its not the squads fault they fielded 6 or better when the other squad only fielded 5. The minimum pilots is 6 so the sqaud that fields 6 will always fly 6 and its the other squads chioce to fly 5 or forfeit. Always, that ive seen, most don't want to forfeit, they want to atleast try to win with 5. If you start making rules about punishing teams that do or don't field enough pilots, wow a whole nother can of worms!

Last 2 games, WS have only had 5 / 6 show up, so, other teams should of been allowed to field 7? Think thats going to far. What if team a show with 7 team b who have loads show up with 12+. Why should team be allowed to fly 8?
Bad idea in my opinion.

Geez Fury why taking it personally ? It is probably because it?s TS -members who are defending the use of match-tags with tooth and nails on here.
Yes ?ethic?. It?s a big word ?
Of course at times I like to be anonymous in FFA. Especially when using my Rb_Tulla tag in FFA, I get targeted alot or they?ll start to ask me hundreds of silly questions, while I am only there and fancy to fly. So whenever I want to play in FFA, I have to use an ?alias?, if I don?t fancy being targeted or getting involved in chats too much.
But League - / Squad matches are way different.
It is ***Lights***, ***Camera***, ***Action***
There are top squads, top-players and many of ?friends?around the world. Why hide ?
Please call me one sport, one (team - ) competition - prof or amatuers - where competitors remain unknown and anonymous.
Of course a squad with a sense for tactics will try to take out the top-ace first. Why not ? This is part of the game. So it?s your business to protect him and not to hide him.

First is the use of tags that are not readily recognizable. I feel that this detracts from the game, as a lot of the fun is knowing which player we are playing against. Many of us have been friends (or enemies

) for years while playing this game, and I feel the secret tags knock the fun factor down a few pegs.
Sorry to say this (well it is you, Temper) but I agree with you - it makes for an interesting game when you know who's after you or who you are after. Afterall, the rest of the squad are behind them or you too! Hey, what's wrong with getting a bit personal, lol.
Secondly, a new tactic is to fly only 6 players as GB, when perhaps both squads have more players sitting. Who wants to sit when they could be playing??? I feel that this knocks the fun factor down a few more pegs, especially for those sitting.
It's all about ratios isn't it! I think who ever shows up should stay for the duration - everyone should play, it's no fun on the sidelines. So long as the teams are evenly numbered, the more the merrier! If there's too many for one team, they could sit out one half/quarter and play in the next.
BTW Temp, EVIL have a match on Sunday 6-30 UK time, we could do with you m8

Hawk, I think you missed my meaning on several points, but since you will no longer respond there is no need for me to try to explain myself better.
Anyhoo, what better time to discuss possible rule changes? It's not like -[Terror]-, or myself, are too busy playing in the UKAA 2 Squad League.
And you think for one minute I won't respond to your backpeddling BS, I didn't miss a dam thing on any meanings of any points you made, you want to get the last say in to make anybody reading your garbage think that your the one that's sane. OK
Tags in competition is a tactic, What Gari and Noodles bring to the table is down right dispicable and should be corrected.
Tulla M8, your off your nut with comparing different ends of the spectrum so stop with the tag chit, please......
And Temper you wont get the last word in if you try to imply or twist something that I know your doing.
Oh, Cheers.....
