Well said Tulla, and after reading and see the means need to justify the ends with the usa site, then why didnt they ask for members to donate? Why? is it a matter of over head or making a substantial gain first? And if I recall there are many sites that offer free hosting and allow php and MySql and all needed to run a site, but Tulla since you said you liked a free party new and had an ideal business like feel (reading between the lines of what you posted Tulla) makes me wonder.
I didn?t wrote something between the lines. There are several ways to cover the costs for hosts, as I?ve described above. The free-webhosting is also only free because you?ll have to bear with adds on the site. Additionally the administrative options on free hosts are limited/ restricted and never fulfill the requirements, you need to have for such a compex site.

Afaik there was a ?donate-button?on the home-page of the USAAC, is it gone ?

I?m sure there is one on the Tow-net home-page. If it?s not that easy to find, be glad. Maybe they?re too shy to ask for donations ? If so, it is symphatic to me, though there is nothing wrong with asking for donations.

He has the donate button to the left of every single ad banner at bottom of each forum page in all his forums on Tides of War.

I don?t get what is so suspicious about it ?

I don?t like adds too but can easily ignore them, because I browse directly to the forums only and there is an add only at the far bottom. If you got used to the navigation of the site, you know where you have to click at, in order to find what you?re searching for.

You don?t pay anything for the service, so why do you care at all ? I mean nobody forces you to come here and afaik you?re with Tigers and UKAAC. How come you are so full of hate and so agressive ?

I would like to understand the ?independent-necessity?better.
So imagine ToW-net would take the USAAC-site down.

Who would be going to host a new US AA-site, where, who would finance it and would it be totally ?independent? ?

Examples please. :)
Tulla M8,

Your asking questions that one individual cannot answere only can give opinions. I do believe this all would have to be discussed at our next BOD meeting and voted on.

I ask you this, is the GE site indepedent, is the UK site independent, should the USA site be independent or should there be one world wide AA site only. Alot of decision making and it won't be overnight, this is just my opinion.

Even if Tbar is making a little recuperation cash who really cares??

It has not cost anything to anybody that hasnt donated.

Im sure Tbar is not lining his pockets with some large cash because of it.

And if he is,,, I will be traveling to Orlando soon and rip his internet connection out pf the side of his house !!!

Of course that is a joke.

This depends on what you describe as being ?independent?. Who or what in this world is really independent ? The persons in charge of such a website are always attacked being a ?clique?, being ?dictators? or whatever. This is not different in the UK, nor is it in GE.

I ask you, in which ways you feel dependent to ToW ? I mean do they bond you to anything ? Do they force you to anything ?

Again you ask questions that not one person can answere only opinions.

Of course one person would own the domain name and be viewed as you say but I'm sure the BOD would decide and vote for the most competent person to have the domain name registered in.

My opinion about independence would be it's own identity as GE and UK with all the bells, whistles and growing pains that go along with it.

Your questions about TOW's involvment and it's effect on members of the USSAC in my opinion does not give USAAC a true identity, but then again that's my opinion and i am only one voice.

I find that if I was to dedicate my all to something that would truly be a home then it would have it's own Identity, that's my feeling.

TOW has always been gracious and a great community of multi gaming but I believe USAAC should stand on it's own or all AA communities should have one website to go to.

Like I said, just my opinion.

One world-wide AA-side only: nice imagination but would it work ? Currently I don?t think so but maybe in the future.

New questions would arise.

The CLP is currently hosted on a server located in Germany. Owner of the server: rented by?TopSchrott? (german) and ?Deleriux? (british) (exclusively, no other sites hosted on the server).

The owner of the license for the CLP-site software is ?Babsack? (german) who is also the owner of the TAA-license. Afaik the new UKAAC site is hosted on the CLP-server as well. It works with no problems.

Add the US-site to the CLP-server too and I?m sure it wont last long until some prats coming out of the woodwork and asking as to why an US-site is hosted on a german server, owned by a german and a british and if it doesn?t should be ?independent?from all others or if the server the site is hosted on shouldn?t be located in the US.

When you browse to TAA-website, do you have the feeling it is a german website in the very 1st place ? Do you see a german flag or german colours anywhere ? Even most buttons and links are written in english. There are some forums-boards in german language though.

Same with the british site. Is it british in the very 1st place ? Union-Jacks all over the site ? British colours ?

If an AA-site really has a national identity, it is the one of the USAAC.

Or what identity are you talking about ?
