Just read the warfleet page ..
Why not EP ... XP might be confused with Windows ?

.

Questions include the mentioning of certain updates , monthly , quarterly.

The size of ALL downloads .

Presumably the monthy ones will be not of such size as to be problematic , yes , no ?

How big ?

.

The quarterly ones , presumably larger , in which case a CD of those would be a lot easier . but... the shipping costs . and I have use a USA version , but live outside .

How would that be ?

.

A download from a CD , has two advantages from the point if view of some ; Apart from the ease of downloading , it saves losing it when , the recovery disc might be needed to restore the whole Windows , or, when one for whatever reason needs / wants to use a different computer . Thus making a whole re-downloading time and all the rest unnecessary .

I am not any kind of expert at computering , and I am sure many are not , and have only dial - up too, so if downloads are limited size , and CDs are available somehow for the larger things , it would be possible . Otherwise a hassle , and I would not attempt it.

.

Finally , could there be some way of players obtaining the latest and most complete " patches" etc , gold or whatever , by mail . Mention WAS made on this , at warfleet - but - only as one of the additional benefits when one signs up as commander -

Why not for all players , who simply want to play the game with the latest full additions to it , some means of purchasing the latest ,bona fide, fullest , Tesseraction- approved CD , or whatever . ?

.

If I feel that it will not lead to too many more complications , I would sign up for the whole thing . I think things need to be kept simpler whenever possible , life already has enough complexities !
* why not EP: If someone confuses XP with Windows they shouldn't be playing around on a computer.

* Size of Downloads: Size will vary. Missions, etc. are very small, new ships and textures are larger. The goal is to have the monthly downloads < 20mb. Weekly <10mb. Quarterly will probably be in the 60-80mb range for Ensign and Account holders, smaller for Commanders, larger for non-members when they get access to the new content (semi-annually possibly).

* Quarterly: You can have a cd made for you and shipped to you, but you have to pay for the cd and shipping if you are < Commander. Commanders just pay actual shipping.

* Non-Members and upgrades: We will likely have to turn to an "Add-On" approach for non-members. That remains to be seen however.

* Simple is good.

We sent out 3300 emails to registered players. Hoping voter turnout increases.
I should have been notified so I could have changed the forum status to let guests vote :/

some may not have voted due to the fact they had to be registered...

I believe the Multiplayer Key for the 30 days , applies only to the USA version

Purchasing the game gives you 30-days free MP. Unless a policy has changed from the last time I looked at the back of my game box ... Aside from the current timetable

.

Yes , I am well aware of that . I cant imagine that anyone could possibly not be.

However not all versions have the key for multiplayer .

.

As I mentioned , thtere was discussion in the forum many months ago , and another solution is available .

Look in the forums to see about that

Ah, the Multiplayer Key for registering on the Official Site. Some contries didn't recieve the key (red tab or otherwise) upon purchase and a work around was sorted out to allow those players to register on the site under various factions.

The thread you are refering to could possibly be this one ? :

East, it sounds like you guys have it all figured out. The results look good so far, but like you said it would be nice if we could get 1k voters or so... Image

Actually, all of it is for the single-player (offline) version of the game.
I will have to see the multiplayer first before signing up for anything else
