With a free download of the MP client, this is an *excellent* way for folks to try it out before devoting a lot of cash. As it is now, MMOGs want you to buy the client for $20-$50, and give you a free month. TAG's plan is tailor-made for folks that can't commit to the level of play a running account demands to "get your money's worth", and allows someone to drop a couple of bucks a month when they have some spare time.

Small but still interesting idea. I've got few friends with how I play regulary LAN with, we are usualy 6-8 guys every time. When I showed them enigma they said wow! But when I told them there wasn't any LAN multiplayer programed , they answered This Sucks!
So could we have a small limited to deathmatch LAN multiplayer so we could motivat are friends to come online. I they would (my friends) if they try it out first in a nice LAN.

What, your friends are too cheap to blow one dollar for an evening of playing online?

I certainly am.
I don't know how the prize is calculated, but 1$ per day is about twice as much as most other online games cost.
I am also worried about the "only creditcard at the beginning part", mainly because I don't own one.
@east:
Have you considered using
Bibit as alternative paying method for longer time periods?
They support ELV (Elektronisches Lastschriftverfahren) which means that ANY German with a bank account can pay without any further costs for him.

We will be supporting other payment methods, the problem is they cost to set up. Until we get a good idea of the player load it doesn't make sense to give a piece of revenue away for a payment method.
As for the $1 per day - it's a book of tickets, you use them when you like. If you want to play everyday just pay for the month subscription.

Well they must first buy the game to play online...Then pay to play online....Exept if they don't pay the game...and copy it to play online.....Still they will want to test it between friends rather then pay to get blast by pro's on the net not knowing where the hell that torp came from...

You've apparently missed the "free multiplayer client" part...

Baby steps, baby steps. Deathmatch, get the rollers greased, and come cash flow.
Will support both, but the soonest MP solution is my favorite. Anyways, there are a lot of old scores to settle in an IW mode
