it is whining though, if you had done some research and still reached your conclusion then yes it would have been missleading.

thats why i present to you...

My Guide to Game Buying:

1. check out some game sites first (Gamespot, Gamespy etc.)

2. read some reveiws

3. play a demo (if applicable)

4. check prices

5. check the info by reading some more reviews

6. get opinions from like minded gamers (friends who may have bought it, or message boards)

7. then if you like what you've read/heard about/played, go and buy it.

i read gamespots review of ERT before i bought it, and as i remember it told me the MP was coming shortly and it was currently only SP (they had a good go that the game needs MP more than anything.)

And there you have it, if you do a little research before hand you'll never waste your money :)

Rant over, thx for reading :) enigma!:

I posted the 2 Multiplayer reports myself. They were from The Enigmacon multiplayer preview in Eugene Or.

The game is sold as a single player game. With a free month of Multiplayer (when it comes out). This is not multiplayer and never was meant to be and does not state that anywhere on the box. I'm sure no one was intentionally trying to misslead you. If you read the boards you know that TAG is doing everything they can to support the player community and to get Multiplayer up and running. buxton:

Well I'm getting a little upset at all the game manufacturers. They sell you a game,

promise that it is the best ever. show you all kinds of screen shots, Have a big conference, that looked to me to have about 8 people there,(Marines googling some school girls is not what I would have wanted to see if I could have travelled the distance). No news on what is happening. taking forever to get things sorted out. Thinking our pockets are bottom-less, What happened to pride in ones work. Why do they think that the consumer should finance their company by releasing an inferior product so they can get a little cash flow and try and complete the game that they promised.

Ford or GM doesn't sell me a car then tell me that they are working on an engine and it should be out soon, and we will have a patch so you can drive it on the highways with other cars, but to drive it on roads it will be OUR ROADS only and it will cost you US$20.00 a month. But hey I'm not whining, I'm waiting for the release of Silent Hunter 3! They got my money for SH2 ( that had many problems ) so it HAS to be much better. Why dont we send them $300.00 and we could then go straight to Silent Hunter 8 or Enigma 5. Fiancing doesn't pay unless you are a bank. Thanks for reading this and remember they can't make anything without us to buy there product. and I'm not picking on one company here most do this to us, and I don't think it's acceptable. as I would buying a car, house, food or clothes.

Thanks, Cal

Right where do i start! Lets start with the obvious bit:
But hey I'm not whining, I'm waiting for the release of Silent Hunter 3! They got my money for SH2 ( that had many problems ) so it HAS to be much better.
This is the first game that TAG are producing so its not like they have the money from a previous version to go from do they!
Thinking our pockets are bottom-less, What happened to pride in ones work.
Erm ok where have u got that impression from? Are you reading the same stuff we are?
Why do they think that the consumer should finance their company by releasing an inferior product so they can get a little cash flow and try and complete the game that they promised.
Where is this inferior product? I dont see one. I see a single player game, why is that inferior? Its not! They promised 2 games, a single player game and a multiplayer game. And as far as i can tell TAG are doing exactly what they promised. If your too impatient to wait for a multiplayer of the game that is stable and not gonna break and crash on you then thats ur choice but dont go flaming TAG when they are doing a good job.

Please read all the facts before making a judgement! Dont flame anyone because you cant wait for the multiplayer which is coming along at a great pace and we will be able to get our hands on in the not too distant future.

Enigma is a great game in single player and i am quite happy going through all the missions several times and never getting bored. When the multiplayer client is released it will be a completely different game. It will have all the smae graphics etc but will play as a completely different game.

Patience is a virtue, and one that some people are lacking. Im happy to wait for as long as it takes for the TAG team to finish the multiplayer client. We should be giving them our support and helpful feedback. Just telling them they arent doing a very good job isnt gonna help!

Right thats enough of a rant for now.

stop:

what a minute is the game now being toted as two games and the game i bought isnt multiplayer??

because my game box says multiplayer not single player and multiplayer after you download another game or patch or download a second part of the game that we didnt give you, even though I bought a full game for full price not half a game at half price.

excuse me if I sound like an a$$hole, but come on, get on the ball, get the ball going.

can you tell me of 5 recent or any up to date games that sell you a game at $50.00 and then charge you to be able to play online or charge you to play multiplayer.

or can you tell of 5 recent or up to date games that are an arcade sim that isnt shipped with multiplayer ready to go when i install the game .

come on and release a utilty so I can set up a multiplayer game so me and my friend that bought 2 games, so we could frag each other like the game box depicted.

bash: thank you for bearing with me while I let off some steam and rants bash:

The game never depicted lan multiplayer period. If you read the box you'll see that it refers to a free month once multiplayer is released.

EVERY massively multiplayer game released charges you $50 plus the subscription, difference is with Enigma you got a singleplayer game AND a free month of multiplayer - with all the others you get only multiplayer. Once multiplayer is complete it is a free download - NOBODY else even offers that.

Please read this clearly:

THERE WILL NEVER BE A LAN VERSION OF ENIGMA

no matter how much you bitch or slam Enigma. Hope that clears things up for you.

Boo Yah!!! go east, go east. Actually, the single player game is superb, especially if you use voice commands. Once MP is complete, then things will take off from there. It is indeed a sweet deal that we gamers are getting from Tesseraction. As the saying goes " don't look a gift-horse in the mouth "

Patience, patience! A massively multiplayer on-line game requires a careful launch, or it will fail.
wait wait, not quite true, remember WWIIOL? The horrible release 3 years ago? It's still alive! It's a great game, but the navy hasn't advanced that much at all.

yeah but they're *still* not back up to the number of people that bought the box the first two weeks. I was a part of that "experience" at launch, trying to coordinate IRC tech help channels because the Strategy First forums melted down. No need to talk here about what forced their hand, etc. I still have friends over there, and am glad that they've managed to hang on and bring the game forward to the point that they have. I still enjoy playing when I get the chance, even though I get frustrated at my 15 deaths to 2 kills ratio (since I haven' practiced in so long.)
