TAG went to a local school once to demo the game & get feedback. This one little girl - I forget what age East said she was - could get a hit every time at max torp range. East had the boys searching for the bug in the code but there wasn't one - she was just a natural.
A born fish wife! :laugh:

Never really tried for long shots with torpedos, so I thought I would give it a shot.
Loaded up the KLM DE patrol where you are to sink some tankers and merchants(a nice mission for some target practice), and here are the results:
M31 was right at the edge of visual range, I fired 2 torpedos each at T32 and M31.
I primarily use my guns for attacking ships, and reserve my torpedos for forcing enemy ships to go on the defensive and alter their course when I am faced with engaging superior numbers.

It happens . I don't doubt Jesper.
I have noticed a few times , a distance of about 7800 . Usually towards the end of a battle over a very wide area .
Of course once , one torpedo I had ran into a piece of floating debris , like a raft after its engine had stopped , and I think a German cruiser just sailed right into it .

Actually yes I have proof.
BVK what you have seen 78xx M away was an AI sinking an AI,
In the upcoming patch you can drive a Battleship, the 15" guns has a range about 8500m I think

Good God and to think I have been holding my fire till I thought they were in range!
Whats the max distance for these torps? Or I guess I could say if I can see it then I can hit it yeah?

The visible range is only about 4km and range that the A I will start firing deck guns .. but the torp maximum is more .. I also wonder what limit .
