Hey Donoby,

I was just talking to my daughter about the firing solution for the torps that was mentioned on this forum ... and she has the Ti-83 calculator for grade 12 math. Can you please tell me what formula you are using and how to program it into this calculator.

Your lucky Gamerat! I've got also a Ti-83, but the problem is I have to convert the programm from the Ti-89 to Ti-83, not hard actually just few things to change. Anyway do you have the cable link or not? otherwise ill post the programm right here on the forum

Ok first you must understand how the program works:

It ask 5 numbers, C,A,B,S,E

C is for cadrant, you tell the program where's the target in the B-Tac, the number is between 1 and 4, like shown below, simple if the target is in zone one just input 1

Then it ask -A: target's heading, read that on the B-Tac

-B: your heading, read that in the upper right corner of the screen

-S: target's speed, read on the B-Tac

-E: the heading you read in tactical mode when aiming the target

After that it gives you the angle to lead your view where you were aiming, I always add 1 or 2 to degrees because the torp speed isn't really 40 and the speed read in the B-tac isn't really true.

So here is my programm, it isn't perfect could be better, but works...

          (here the sin*-1 is inverse sinus,which is usualy "on the shift" of sin)

You'll notice there's 12 differant formulas...so that's why i programm this

If the target is just on the limit of 2 cadrans always use the one with the smallest number (e.g. if between 1 and 2 take 1)

VERY IMPORTANT: set your calculator in degrees ;)

Hi Donoby,

I can't figure out how to get all that into the calculator, but am having OK success with the demo anyway. I am waiting for the next patch to come out before I buy the game and maybe there will be some more torp firing info available. And after that I will try and figure all your stuff out.

Rogue if you often programm calculators, this is a easy program, if then conditions all the time, with formulas in it. This is quite commun for calculator. The only differance you will have is maybe the conditions won't be exacly the same, depends of how your calculator understand things, what is it antway? casio?

Gamerat, what is your problem? If and then can be found in the program menu, all the > < and xor can be found in the sub-menu test and main-menu math, and prompt, lbl and goto is also in the prgm menu.

Can someone confirm what enhancements are going to be available in the next patch concerning the more detailed torp firing abilities. And how they will be used in game.

Exactly what is new:

You wil lhave awhole new hud where you choose:

Running depth (assuming the deeper they run the harder they are to spot)

+ you can sink subs at deeper depths.

Also you will have:

The ability to choose the speed of them.

Without looking I think that slwest speed == 10800some meters and fastest speed(44kts) == 48some meters

Using Donoby's or others mathematic calculations you can set your speed eaxtly to the point of heading, angle & speed of your enemy. Ofcourse you will not have time to calculate your every moev in MP, so now is the time to practice. :)
