Could you please explain in greater detail more about the new options on the MTAC and BTAC?

Also, what's an E-boat and what's so special about it?

Also, if someone's already finished a campaign and then applies the new patch, can they captain a battlecruiser in a patrol mission?

Also, IMO, the red background in parts of the control panel background is distracting.

Is there no chance of Europe getting this patch? Or maybe getting the US patch to work on the Euro version.

An Eboat is a german MTB (schnellboat)

The diff from the other boats are that its tubes are facing forward.

and you must bve the only that find the red parts distracting, i think it looks great :)

I'm looking forward to the patch. It looks great. Seems like to be more of an upgrade then a repair patch. Since I'm one of those that have been plagued with random crashes you could understand my curiosity if any progress has been made in addressing those sort of issues in this patch.

I almost feel guilty asking about that as if redirecting attention away from upgrading the game. Partly because I intend to build a new machine after Christmas. I'll be putting XP on it since it seems 98 isn't supported very much anymore. But I was curious just the same.

Another thing I was wondering about is the new voice response system. Is this giving us audio voice responses that we can hear after issuing commands? Like "Ahead full" then hear something like "Aye aye Captain, ahead full".

If so, will it be able to reply with numerics? Any audio feedback after issuing commands would be nice though.

The random crashes, etc. are not due to Enigma's code. If you have a GeForce MX420 or 440 card - you will have problems. It has to do with NVidia's drivers and something about the card itself - most of the time it doesn't install properly. There was a problem with the newest series of NVidia cards that was fixed with the newest driver release from NVidia. To date we haven't found any crash/lag/lockup related problems with our codebase hence Enigma doesn't need a repair patch. Now we do update a couple things, fix some misspelled items (Riako...) change some messages and adjust some missions for better balance, but that's about it.

Now as for a feature patch - we made a commitment to getting a feature patch out every 90 days (approx.) for free. This is it. It is also part of a larger strategy to keep us alive and allow us to continue to work on multiplayer.

There will be a Gold Edition of Enigma Q1 2004 that includes all the feature patches, an updated look, some exclusive features including a mission generator and a couple of surprises. It will also be the first time you will be able to get the full soundtrack - it will be included. This however will only be available outside of North America/Canada.

Actually I have a 9700pro 3.10 cat drivers and tried with no sound to no avail. The enhancements in the gold edition sound cool. Hopefully sometime they'll be available to everyone.
