Hmmmm I was under the impression that you couldnt extract the zip file ?!?

Each time I've downloaded it, its just been a normal Zip archive that can be opened.

When applying the the patch it should be installed from a temp location.

Where were you 3 days ago when I needed you?

Heya guys I am having exactly the same problem as above. Have the UK/GMX version and the patcher is failing on check saying the target file is corrupt. Have tried uninstalling and reinstall a few times but still get the same problem.

Scratching my head a little here, do you folks have any other suggestions?

Well I fixed my problem by reinstalling the game before applying the patch.

When was the last time you did a scan on your hard drive and defrag it?

Last did a scan disk and defrag tonight hehe. Will try uninstalling and reinstalling and then download the patch again from a different website, might be a corrupt zip. Fingers crossed

update: out of interest checked that file you mentioned (libIGCore.dll) , the one that comes with the patch updater is the same size as the one that comes off my ERT CD. I wonder if I have a european version then and thats why the UK patch won't work? Ordered the game through play.com so it came from outside UK

Its certainly the GMX version with sub on the box cover anyway....will give up trying to patch it for now, its still a great game unpatched

European Union English is what's meant by the UK patch. Spain (released in english by GMX because GMX was in deep sh*t with us by then), Germany and France do not have upgrades patches. We are getting the translations done now. We had tried to get the German done by a player group, but it's taken them 4 months with no results yet.

Dial -up.. and don't really want a 'patched ' enigma..with probably stuff downloaded which I cant use , if I use a second puter .. and complications ..

When will the newer proper Enigma CD be available in EU or UK ?

The GMX is a bloody nuisance anyway ,,,with all the stuff that appears , unless you press space , then Alt +F4 each time you stop...etc .

( I have made complaints about spam = advertisng emails they sent me , ! Under new recent EU / UK laws ,,,they might have more cases to answer ! )

Oh yeah forgot about the adverts when quitting out of the GMX version, have to be honest its pretty annoying so would be nice to see them taken out in a future patch.

Will hold off playing through the single player game til the patch comes out I think, sounds like theres some nice new features/updates in there that will make the single player game better to play for the 1st time round....look forward to it.
