Avon lady, are you the same Avon Lady who plays Delta Force and hangs out in the Delta Force usenet newsgroup?  :)
Yep but when was the last time you've seen me on the DF NG?
A better question would be, when was the last time I played DF? :) If I didn't have a GeForce2 then I'd probably still be playing it, but random crashes ruined it for me. I get them with Enigma too so one day I'll have enough saved up pennies for a ATI Radeon :)
I've been addicted to OFP for the last 3 years. Read The FAQ. wave:
Yeah that'll probably be right, I just remember seeing your name :)

I personally wouldn't buy a Radeon.

Are you using relatively recent Nvidia Detonator drivers for your GF2?

Short answers

From what I've heard/read, they're currently better than NVidia's cards.

I used to use detonator drivers, but they didn't help any, went back to using the card manufacturers drivers.

Long answers

Well the ATI cards support DX9, where as the NVidia ones don't (That's Half-Life's excuse for being late, they had to rewrite large parts of the code so the game would run better with nvidia cards.) and I know that Geforce2 chips had a problem (the one that's in my card), GeForce4 worked much better, but I still don't trust them.

Once bitten forever shy........ or something like that rolleyes:

The full name of my card is a Gainward GeForce2 MX/MX 400 Goldensample VIVO (I think). The detonator drivers didn't work for me so I ended up going back and using those supplied by Gainward. Battlefield1942 stopped crashing and video-in worked again (I've had the card over two years and still haven't got around to ripping my old videos to CD :( ).

Hmmmmm

1: ATi is faster for HalfLife (Toms Hardware Tests)

2: GFFX is faster for Doom (Toms Hardware Tests)

nVIDIA drivers Detonator 45,23 is crappy and does not show all GFX, they cheated to make it faster than the ATi drivers (Toms Hardware)

nVIDIA has new beta drivers; http://www.ivmm.com/download_inno3d.html

remember they are BETA and to be used at own risk.

FYI:

The entire source code for HalfLife2 was leaked.
